Settlement, being a lease and release by (1) Edward Miller Mundy of Shipley, co. Derby, esq. (the surviving trustee of an assignment of trust (D 2/24-5) of the will of Thomas Mathews, esq., dec. (D 4/7)), with the consent of (2) Thomas Mathews of Llandaf, co. Glam., esq., grandson and heir of the said Thomas Mathews, and (3) Jane Mathews of Upper Brook Street, p. St George Bloomsbury, spinster, Ann Mathews of Haverfordwest, co. Pemb., spinster, and Milicent Browne of Upper Brook Street aforesaid, wife of Mark Browne of Newtown, co. Galway, Ireland, esq., but formerly Milicent Mathews (the three granddaughters of the said Thomas Mathews, dec.), to (4) Wallwyn Shepheard of Boswell Court, p. St Clement Danes, co. Mddx, gent., and William Frogatt of Castle Street, p. St Martin in the Fields, co. Mddx, gent., of the castles, manors etc. of 2 in co's Mddx, Glam. and Mon., to the use of 2 for life, and in trust to the use of the heirs male of the body of 1, and in default of such issue to the use of 3 as tenants in common, share and share alike. Provision that 2, should he marry, may appoint an annuity for life after his death for his wife, at the rate of £100 a year in lands and hereditaments or £80 a year rent charge for every £1,000 received as a portion, and a sum equal to the portion to be appointed as a provision for the younger children of such marriage. Recites that 2 has no issue. Endorsed that the deed was registered pursuant to statute, 14 April 1806.
