It includes conversations with Cousin; Thiers; Guizot; Auguste Chevalier; Corcelle; Duvergier d'Hauranne; Lavergne; Ampere; Mdme. Cornu; Mohl; Chrzanowski; Dumon; Prince Napoleon (1822-1891); Kergorlay; Merimee; Wollowski; Circourt; Drouin de l'Huys; Broglie; Lanjuinais; Mignet; Jean Baptiste-Pierre Lafitte (1796-1879); Adolphe Vuitry (1812- ); M. L. P. F. Esquiron de Parieu (1815- ); Mdme. de Stael (1766-1817) [sic]; Duchatel; Torguenief; Arrivabene; Adelaide Ristori (1822-1906); Jules Simon (1814-1896) et al. Discussions relate mainly to the political situation in Europe and the possibility of a war involving France, Austria and Italy. There are also comments on Anglo-French relations; military matters; the French economy; the Crimean War; Austria and Russia, etc. A copy of a letter from Marchioness Arconati to Mdme.
