Powell, relating to the Welsh estate of the late John Jones of Derry Ormond, esq., dec., in p's Betws Bledrws, Llanddewibrefi, Caron, Llanbedr Pont Steffan, Llanfair Clydogau, Llangybi, co. Card., and St Peters, co. Carm., being the papers of Messrs Hughes & Roberts of Aberystwyth, solicitors, the receivers of the estate. They include estate accounts, bills and vouchers, 1839-1950; rentals (properties and occupants named) and a petition by tenants for a reduction of rents, 1841-1849; accounts, bills etc. relating to the embanking of Morfa Brenin, p. Carmarthen St Peters, and the building of a new house at Brynmaen, 1842-1849; correspondence to and from the receivers concerning the above matters, 1842-1854; affidavits of a surveyor and architect as to valuations and repairs of various (named) estate properties, 1843-1844; and a notice of distress and correspondence concerning goods at Cefngarn, in t. Gwynfil.
