Papers relating to John Evans of Aberystwyth, shipbuilder, dealer and chapman, who filed for bankruptcy in July 1857, and Charles MacArthur of Tynybedw near Crosswood, wood ranger, assignee of his estate and effects. The papers include court papers, accounts, letters, lists of debts and receipts. An inventory of goods seized, July 1857, and abstracts of title (1813-1857), posters and conditions of sale of lots to be sold, including the schooner 'Ocean Queen', a share in the Aberystwyth Gas Company, and the lease of the Shipwrights Arms public house, Aberystwyth, Sept. 1857.
