Inspeximus and confirmation, [1 May 1341], in favour of William de Monte Acuto, earl of Salisbury and his heirs, in consideration of his good and useful service in France and elsewhere, of (i) a charter at the tower of London, 16 Aug., 11 Edward III, whereby the manor of Beckele, co. Oxford, which John de Haudlo holds for life with reversion to Hugh le Despenser, late earl of Winchester, shall remain to the said John; and (ii) a charter dated at Westminster, 1 Oct., 11 Edward III (no. 1535 above). With a further grant that the said grants and charters shall always remain in force for the said earl and his heirs. Transcript, 19 cent.
