The group consists of papers relating to the development project, 1984-1986, the report of which was published in 1986.

The file contains corresondence, 1968-1969, accumulated by Sally Roberts Jones as secretary of the English Language Section of the Academi. The correspondence relates to the first and other early meetings of the section and includes letters and references to many prominent Anglo-Welsh and Welsh language writers including Dannie Abse, Alison Bielski, W. The file comprises papers relating to the degree of Doctor in Litteris, honoris causa awarded by the University of Wales, 1974, including Professor T. J. Morgan's presentation of Glyn Jones, and related letters and cards. The correspondents include C. W. L. Bevan, Vice-Chancellor, University of Wales, J. Gareth Thomas, Registrar, University of Wales (6), Raymond Garlick, R. Brinley Jones, John Rowlands (2), Elwyn Davies, A. G. Prys-Jones and a card by John Elwyn. -- Also included is a programme for the degree ceremonies held at the University of Wales, Trinity College, Carmarthen, 1993, with a typescript address which appears to have been delivered by Tudor Bevan, who presented Glyn Jones to an Honorary Fellowship of Trinity College.

One hundred and thirty-four letters, 1974-1976, to Francis Llewellyn Powys from Laurence Pollinger Ltd, literary agents, London, concerning the publication and translation of, and copyright, royalties, film rights, etc. relating to, the works and other papers (eg letters) of John Cowper Powys and Theodore Francis Powys. Some of the earlier letters are signed by Laurence Pollinger, the remainder mostly by Gerald Pollinger or his representatives, who include Denzil de Silva. Amongst the enclosures are a letter, 1974, to Laurence Pollinger from Jeffrey Kwintner, a letter, 1975, to Dr R. Brinley Jones of the University of Wales Press from Gerald Pollinger, letters, 1975-1976, to Gerald Pollinger from Glen Cavaliero, a press review of a 1976 edition of Wolf Solent, a copy of a letter, 1976, to Gerald Pollinger from Mary Barham Johnson, together with Pollinger's reply, and a press cutting from The Bookseller, October 1976, relating to reprints of some of Theodore Francis Powys's works. Also included are letters to Francis Llewellyn Powys from Jeffrey Kwintner (1974), Chatto & Windus, publishers, London (1975-1976), John Sankey of Villiers Publications Ltd, publishers, London (1975) and Doubleday & Co. Inc., publishers, New York (1976), a copy of a letter, 1975, to Dr R. Brinley Jones from Gerald Pollinger, together with a response from Dr R. Brinley Jones, and a letter, 1976, to Mary Barham Johnson from Gerald Pollinger. There are references to Phyllis Playter's opinions and responses regarding the publishing of John Cowper Powys's works, and one letter from Gerald Pollinger to Francis Llewellyn Powys mentions the death of Laurence Pollinger in 1976. On the reverse of some of the letters are draft letters and rough arithmetical calculations in Francis Llewellyn Powys's hand.

The file contains autobiographical notes on candidates nominated for election, 1981, together with a list of the number of votes obtained by each candidate and correspondence with those elected. Those elected were Chris Torrance, Emlyn Williams, Richard Llewellyn, R. Brinley Jones, Barbara Hardy and Elwyn Jones. Apart from Emlyn Williams and Richard Llewellyn, their responses to the invitation to join the Academi have not been noted in this file.

The file comprises two typescript copies of Chapters 1 and 2 of the Commentary, with corrections and related notes. There are also letters to René Hague from Tom Dilworth, 'Helen', 'Mollie', Harman Grisewood, William Blissett, William Cookson, R. Brinley Jones and others, 1974-1976; and typescript copies of letters from René Hague, 1974-1976.
