A small volume written by Edward Williams, 'Iolo Morganwg', and containing (a) 1-47, 'Achau Saint Ynys Prydain o Lyfr Thomas Hopcin o Langrallo' with a concluding note (p. 47) 'Myfi Iorwerth ap Iorwerth Gwilym a gymmerais hynn o Lyfr Mr Thomas Hopcin fy Ngharwr o Langrallo, yr hwn Lyfr ydoedd gwaith Thomas Ab Ifan o Dre Brynn ym Mhlwyf Llangrallo a ysgrifenwyd ynghylch y flwyddyn 1670 o hen Lyfrau ysgrifen' and (b) 48-111, 'Achau a Gwelygorddau Saint Ynys Prydain o Lyfr Thomas Truman o Bant Lliwydd' with a concluding note (p. 111) 'o Lyfr hir Thomas Truman o Bant Lliwydd a fuassai yn un o Lyfrau Thomas ab Ifan o Dre Brynn', followed (pp. 113-4) by an anecdote in the autograph of [William Owen Pughe] concerning Owen Gruffydd [the poet] and a few lines in the autograph of Iolo Morganwg headed 'Achau Saint. Ynys Prydain. O Lyfr Twm o'r Nant'. Written on the outside of the cover are the words 'Cwtta (?) bach' and 'For Carmarthen' in the autograph of Iolo Morganwg and 'Welsh MSS', 'Achau Saint, Lives of the Saints, Sent by Mr Owen 11 Augst 1840' and [Class] 'D' in a later hand or hands. This is probably the manuscript referred to in NLW MS 13126A, p. 70, as 'An[euri]n Owen's copy sold to the record Commission'.

A holograph manuscript of part (signature B) of an unpublished Welsh translation of the text of 'Cydymholiad' or a catechism, together with directions to the printer, dated 19 June, 1806, by W. Owen [-Pughe]. The text covers four large folio leaves, and is divided into thirty pages 'marked page for page as it is in the English edition'. Signature A, to be sent to the printer thereafter, contained the title, preface, and table of contents. The directions to the printer contains also rules 'for dividing words at the end of lines'.

A volume, 1855 (watermark 1845), in the hand of John Hughes, Llanerchymedd, Anglesey, containing transcripts of letters and poetry, and other texts.
The volume contains items apparently copied from an untraced manuscript of John William Prichard (ff. 1 verso-25 verso), including transcripts of seven letters, 1751-1757, from Goronwy Owen to William Morris (ff. 2-20 verso, Welsh, English), and one, 1741, from Goronwy Owen to Owen Meyrick (ff. 21-22 verso, Latin, English), all of which appear in The Letters of Goronwy Owen (1723-1769), ed. by J. H. Davies (Cardiff, 1924); a transcript of a letter, 1806, from William Owen-Pughe to Prichard (f. 25 recto-verso); Goronwy Owen's Latin poem 'On Captain Thomas Ffoulkes' Escape…' (ff. 23-24); and englyns in Latin, English and Welsh by Edward Morris (f. 24). The volume also contains a copy of a poem ascribed to Robert Duke of Normandy but probably written by Iolo Morganwg (see The Gentleman's Magazine, 76 (1794), 981) (ff. 26 verso-27); a translation into English [by John Hughes] of the poem 'Y Gorwynion' (ff. 27 verso-31); a list describing the parish churches of Anglesey and their founders (ff. 68-74 verso); and descriptions of the Fifteen Tribes of North Wales (and a few others), with the blazons of their arms (ff. 76-81 verso). Items found loose within the volume (7 ff.) have been tipped in on blank leaves (ff. 32-34, 83), with the exception of a copy, 1799, by John William Prichard, of the poem 'Yr Eneth o'r Bryn', said to have been translated from English by Goronwy Owen (see Alan Llwyd, Gronwy Ddiafael, Gronwy Ddu: Cofiant Goronwy Owen 1723-1769 (1997), p. 58), which is loose at the end of the volume (f. 137).

A manuscript in two volumes containing a corpus of Welsh strict-metre verse consisting almost entirely of 'cywyddau', and a few Welsh prose items. The foliation of the 'text' (original f. 1 missing, original ff. 2-21 renumbered 1-20, a previously unnumbered folio between original ff. 21-2 now f. 21, ff. 22-623 as originally numbered with 75 twice and 265 and 577 missed out) is continuous, and the division into vol. I (ff. 1-300), now NLW MS 13061B, and vol. II (ff. 301-623), now NLW MS 13062B, occurs in the middle of a poem. Unnumbered leaves of later origin than those of the text have been inserted at the beginning and end of each volume. The manuscript, sometimes referred to as 'Y Byrdew Mawr', is in the hand of Thomas ab Ieuan of Tre'r-bryn, parish of Coychurch, co. Glamorgan, the scribe of NLW MSS 13063B, 13069B, and 13085B, and was probably transcribed in the last quarter of the seventeenth century, partly from the manuscripts of an earlier Glamorgan copyist, Llywelyn Siôn (see TLLM, tt. 95, 167-73, 218-19, 268; IM, tt. 87, 154, 264; and IMCY, tt. 81, 175). It was probably presented to Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') by the copyist's grandson also named Thomas ab Ifan (see TLLM, tt. 170, 268). The contents include (revised foliation) :- 1 recto - verso, rules re interpreting the significance of dreams in relation to the phases of the moon (incomplete); 1 verso-8 recto, another set of rules (183) for interpreting dreams ('Deall braiddwydon herwydd Daniel broffwyd'); 8 recto-11 recto, a sequence of forty-eight 'englynion' entitled 'Englynion rhwng Arthur a Liflod i nai' (see The Bulletin of the Board of Celtic Studies, vol. The unnumbered folios at the beginning of each volume contain a list of the contents of the volume giving, in the case of the poems, the name of the poet, in a hand bearing a strong resemblance to that of William Owen Pughe, and the title of the poem, in the hand of Edward Williams. The folios at the end of the first volume contain an index of the bards whose works appear in both volumes. This is possibly in the hand of Hugh Maurice, tanner and copyist. On one of the added folios at the end of the second volume is a poem to the Reverend John Jones, D.D., dean of [the cathedral church of] Bangor. Both volumes contain marginalia in the hand of Edward Williams.

Notes on Welsh biography, history and topography in the hands of the Reverend Peter Roberts (1760-1819), rector of Halkyn, co. Flint, and Angharad Llwyd (1779-1866), written in the margins and on the interleaves of a copy of William Owen [-Pughe], The Cambrian biography ... (London, 1803).

A small notebook in a paper cover formed of two copies of printed conditions for printing Poems, Lyric and Pastoral, by Edward Williams, containing transcripts by William Owen [-Pughe] of two poems by Cynddelw ('Can Tyssiliau' and 'Canu y Duu [i Dduw]') and (p. [33]) of a letter in English from the Reverend Dr. Samuel. Jones, Lower Dublin [Philadelphia], 8 May 1793, to Evan Evans, Waunfawr near Caernarvon, beginning 'Your Brother, as I suppose, who calls himself John Evans . . .' [i.e. John Evans, explorer]. On the outside Iolo Morganwg has written 'Cynddelw, Gm. Owain , . . .' and at a later date 'Yw perchen hwnn. Mi ai cefais gantho mewn Camsyniad yn Ile llyfr i'm hunan, (yn) 1804'. Also on the cover is the letter 'D' [Class D].

A manuscript containing transcripts by Angharad Llwyd (1780-1866) of genealogical and biblical notes mainly relating to North Wales, together with miscellaneous extracts, and also a letter, 1828, from William Owen [-Pughe] (1759-1835) to Angharad Llwyd.

A volume, compiled December 1797, in the hand of William Owen Pughe (1759-1835), consisting of an introduction followed by a long vocabulary of Irish words with Welsh equivalents. In a note by George Chalmers, F.S.A. (p. 4), it is said that the book was intended for the fourth volume of the Welsh Archaiology.

A letter, 4 August 1819, from William Owen Pughe, London, to the Rev. Hugh Davies, Beaumaris, relating to Coll Gwynfa (London, 1819), Pughe's recently published translation of Milton's Paradise Lost.
Pughe quotes extracts of letters in praise of Coll Gwynfa from John Humphreys Parry (f. 23) and William Probert (f. 23 recto-verso). He also discusses the search for the so-called 'Welsh Indians' and includes a sketch of a Native-American pipe (f. 23 verso).

A brief letter, 3 April 1827, from W[illia]m Owen Pughe, London, to his fellow antiquary the Rev. W[illiam] J[enkins] Rees, Cascob, Radnorshire, regretting that he will not see Rees on his visit to London.
Pughe also mentions his son Aneurin Owen. The address (f. 55 verso) is written in a different hand.

A volume, late 18 cent./early 19 cent., containing a miscellaneous collection of essays, letters, notes, extracts and translations, largely relating to Welsh poetry, philology, archaeology and history, mostly written by Dr William Owen Pughe (1759-1835) and sent to George Chalmers (1742-1825), Scottish antiquary.
