General correspondence

Some ninety-eight letters, postcards and telegrams, 1898-1940, addressed to Annie J. Davies (later Ellis, later Hughes-Griffiths). The correspondents include [E.] Vincent Evans, T. Gwynn Jones (3), J. Herbert Lewis (3), David Lloyd George, Margaret Lloyd George, Lord Rendel (6), C. A. F. Rhys Davids (2), W. Llewelyn Williams and [Sir] John Williams (2).
Also included are some six miscellaneous family letters; together with a letter, 25 February 1911, from J. Lloyd Williams to Mrs Mary Davies (Mair Mynorydd) concerning the work of the Welsh Folksong Society (presumably passed on by Mary Davies to her friend Annie Ellis).

Eight diaries, 1873-1880, kept by Stuart Rendel, later Lord Rendel (1834-1913), recording details of domestic and family life, together with references to the business relationship of the Rendel family with Sir William Armstrong of Newcastle and his family, particularly in engineering and arms manufacture. There are many references to work undertaken for the Elswick Ordnance Company. The diary for 1880 refers to Stuart Rendel's early activities at the House of Commons as the MP for Montgomeryshire.

Hamer, of his political aims during the years 1880-1894 when he represented Montgomeryshire in Parliament, with special reference to his work in connection with education and the disestablishment of the church, together with letters from Lord Rendel and A. C. Humphreys-Owen to F. E. Hamer, 1892-1902.
