The letters within the file reflect the wide and expanding range of Lady White's public activities, committees served, functions attended etc. Many relate to educational matters, mainly higher and university education, some to Welsh affairs. A number of letters concern the award of the degree of Ll.D. honoris causa by the University of Wales to Lady White in July 1979.
