Cyfansoddiadau amrywiol a gyflwynwyd i gystadlaethau llenyddol a cherddorol Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru, 1887-2019. Yn eu plith ceir awdlau, pryddestau, cywyddau, englynion, englynion ysgafn, baledi, sonedau, straeon byrion, blogiau, llên meicro a dramâu. Ceir gweithiau ar gyfer y Fedal Ryddiaith, Gwobr Daniel Owen, Ysgoloriaethau Emyr Feddyg a Geraint Morris, ynghyd ag emyn-donau a chyfansoddiadau Tlws y Cerddor a chyfansoddi dawns. Cyflwynwyd cystadlaethau i ieuenctid a chystadleuaeth y gadair a thlws rhyddiaith i ddysgwyr ac i'r rhai sydd wedi byw yn y Wladfa ar hyd eu hoes. = A variety of literary and musical compositions entered at National Eisteddfodau, 1887-2018, including odes and poetry in free metre, ballads, short stories, blogs, micro literature and plays. Entries for the Prose Medal, Daniel Owen Memorial Prize, Emyr Feddyg and Geraint Morris Scholarships, together with musical compositions such as the Musicians' Medal, hymn-tunes and dance composition are also included. Competitions for young people, Welsh learners including a chair and prose competition and a competition for those who have lived in Patagonia throughout their lives have been introduced.

A group of papers of John Ceiriog Hughes and his family, 1860-[?1933], including some nineteen letters, 1860-1861 and undated, from Ceiriog to his wife Annie, shortly before and after their marriage (ff. 1-28); six letters and fragments written by Ceiriog, 1886-1887 and undated, including one, 22 January 1887, to his daughter Delia Ceiriog Evans and her husband, and one, 3 March 1887, to Richard Bennett (incomplete) (ff. 29-38); four letters from Annie Ceiriog Hughes, [1860x1861], three addressed to Ceiriog and one to her mother (ff. 39-47); miscellaneous correspondence addressed to Ceiriog (ff. 48-50), including an envelope from [Richard Davies (Mynyddog)], addressed in verse (postmark 15 February 1870) (f. 48) and fragments of letters containing the autographs of William Williams (Carw Coch), Trecynon, [John Jones] (Mathetes) and Thomas Jones (f. 50); miscellaneous items in Ceiriog's hand (ff. 51-53), including a holograph copy of the words to 'Anthem Tywysog Cymru' (f. 53, together with an explanatory letter from Delia, [?1932], f. 54); correspondence, 1905, between R. Scrap book

A volume containing press-cuttings, consisting of adjudications, notes on old Welsh melodies, poems, etc., by Ceiriog; notes relating to Brinley Richards; accounts of various eisteddfodau, etc. There is one autograph poem entitled 'The train'. There are a few other papers including a telegram, 17 December 1855, asking Ceiriog to compose four lines for a memorial card from [?Roger] Edwards, Mold, a portion of a letter from Ceiriog to 'Alaw' and three autograph verses, [1860x1879].

Gwynn Jones at ei gyfaill R[owland] S[amuel] Rowlands, Tywyn, Abergele (yn ddiweddarach yn fyfyriwr yn Holt Academy, sir Ddinbych, ac yna yn astudio milfeddygaeth yng Nghaeredin), ynghyd ag eitemau eraill amgaeëdig, yn cynnwys tua un ar hugain o gerddi, i gyd yn ôl pob golwg heb eu cyhoeddi. Yn y llythyrau mae Gwynn yn trafod barddoniaeth, gwaith a materion personol. = Twenty-eight letters, 1889-1892, from T. Gwynn Jones to his friend R[owland] S[amuel] Rowlands of Tywyn, Abergele (later a student at Holt Academy, Denbighshire, and then a student of veterinary medicine at Edinburgh), together with other enclosed items, including some twenty-one poems, all apparently unpublished. In the letters Gwynn discusses poetry, work and personal matters.

Other enclosures include a booklet of cartoons entitled 'Darluniau Cymdeithasol' ['Society Pictures'], [1889] (ff. 15-22), a satirical list of competitions for 'Eisteddfod y Beirdd Serch' (ff. 35-36), a prose fragment concerning the characters 'Ned y Dolphin' and 'Syr Harri' (ff. 75-78) and a poem by R. S. Rowlands entitled 'Synnwyr y Fawd', written for Cyfarfod Cystadleuol Abergele, Christmas 1889 (f. 37). A single letter to Rowlands from Griff[ith] Evans, Brynkynallt, Bangor, 13 April 1909, relates to the affairs of the N[orth] W[ales] V[eterinary] M[edical] A[ssociation] (f. 79). Gwynn signs his letters in a number of ways, including 'Gwynn ap Iwan', 'Gwynnvre ap Iwan', 'Thomas Gwynn ap Iwan' and 'Syr Pedr Bennwann'; 'T. Gwynn-Jones' appears for the first time on 15 January 1891 (f. 44).
