Some forty-eight letters, some incomplete, 1920-1925, to D. C. Lloyd-Owen from Richard Bennett, Bangor and Caersws, concerning mostly Montgomeryshire genealogy (ff. 1-91), together with related genealogical papers (ff. 92-150).
The papers include a list of wills and administrations for 1703-1710 from the Deaneries of Estimaner [and Tal-y-bont], Merionethshire (ff. 92-94); typescript and manuscript extracts from, and notes on, Montgomeryshire wills, 1570-1730 (ff. 95-115, 118-125, 136-138), and Merionethshire wills, 1746-1756 (ff. 148-150); manuscript extracts from Chancery proceedings, (temp. Elizabeth I) (ff. 133-135); and a list of Montgomeryshire wills proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, 1680-1708 (ff. 139-142). The letters include references to notable Montgomeryshire families (ff. 1-6, 9-11, 23, 33, 43, 46, 55-58, 66-69, 129-131) and to the Peniarth (ff. 18, 25, 39, 81, 83, 127-128), Rhiwgriafol (f. 79) and Cwmcarnedd (f. 87) deeds.

A group of letters, largely relating to genealogy, heraldry, etc., which include: from Richard Llwyd ('Bard of Snowdon') to Sir William Betham, Herald's College, Dublin, 1814; Robert Roberts, Holyhead to Sir Joshua Meredyth, Dublin, 1814; and W. W. E. Wynne of Peniarth to an unnamed recipient, 1828. The pedigrees mentioned include those of the Powell family of Stanage Park, Radnorshire and of W. W. E. Wynne, Peniarth.
