Manuscripts and papers relating to the Lloyd family of Bronwydd, Cardiganshire, and their ancestors, the Owen family of Henllys, Pembrokeshire, and records relating to the Bronwydd estate, including an early 17th century book of South Wales pedigrees, the literary, genealogical and historical manuscripts of George Owen of Henllys (c.1552-1613), including his Vairdre Book and a copy of his Description of Pembrokeshire; estate records including manorial records of Pembrokeshire manors including the barony of Cemais, including court rolls, 1381-1771, estreat rolls, 1474-1748, and court leet presentments, 1660-1885; records relating to the borough of Newport, Pembrokeshire, 1434-1847; toll books of Eglwyswrw and Newport fairs, 1599-1603; title deeds, 1241-1933, but mostly 16-18 cent.; rentals, 1682-1873; and estate correspondence, mainly [late 19]-[early 20 cent.].

Private letters of the families of Maurice, Owen and Ormsby-Gore of Clenennau and Brogyntyn, 1587-1950, the Godolphin family of Abertanat, 1698-1764 and other individuals who were connected with them by marriage, friendship or official business, 1582-1933, frequently accompanied by copies, drafts or originals of outgoing correspondence and relevant letters from third parties. The range of subjects includes personal and social matters; local government; political news; contemporary national and local events; lawsuits; questions of title and inheritance; trusts; debts, mortgages and other financial matters; family history; the education and careers of individuals; property purchases and estate business in North Wales, Shropshire and Ireland, where this is inseparable from other topics.

The file comprises a letter by Reginald Charles Heaton to his aunt, Jessy Griffith, regarding pedigrees and arms of Heaton and Griffith.

Estate records, including deeds and documents, 1304-1887, relating to the estates of the Glynnes in Flintshire and elsewhere. The first three centuries covered by the deeds relate largely to the Ravenscroft family, their property, and their legal transactions. A large body of the documents relate to the period when Sir John Glynne, 6th bart., was the occupier of the estate. Other estate records include accounts, rentals, estate, household, and personal accounts, inventories, election expenses, colliery accounts, lists of charities distributed, estate maps, plans, surveys, bills, vouchers, etc., 1690-1872, including rentals of the lordship of Hawarden, 1686-1886. -- Amongst the personal papers are the diaries and account books of Sir John Glynne, 1753-1757, the diaries of the Rev. Stephen Glynne, 1798-1824, Mary Glynne, afterwards Lady Lyttelton, 1824-1831, Stephen Richard Glynne, 1825-1874, and W. H. Gladstone whilst at Eton College, 1856-1857; travel journals through North Wales, 1824, South Wales, 1824, Scotland, 1839, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, Belguim, Greece and Austria, 1834-1866, Turkey, 1848, Egypt, 1850, and Palestine, 1850. -- The archive also includes election papers such as lists of voters, canvass returns, accounts, relating to Flintshire elections, 1727-1837, letters written by and to members of the Glynne family and to Gladstone; notes on history, genealogy and ecclesiology; ships' log-books, 1727-1730 and 1734-1739. -- A separate group of legal papers which belonged to a lawyer named Dovey, relate mainly to bankrupts, and their immediate relevance to the Glynne family is not very obvious.

Owen to Sr. J. T. Stanley...', 'Tythes rents paid by Will Owen at chwaen wenn', 1787-1819, 'An Inventory of all Live and dead Stock in the Parish of Llantrisaint, and in the Chapelry of Gwredog in the said Parish ... made in the year 1798 May 21 when an invasion was daily expected by the French under Napoleon Buonaparte which inventories were duly made in all the Maritime districts of Gt.
