Four volumes, [1872x1877], containing notes on Welsh phonology, vowels, and words derived from Latin, possibly compiled by John Rhŷs in preparation for his lectures on Welsh philology. The book on Welsh phonology includes notes in Myvanwy Rhys's hand.

They mainly relate to philology, including lists of words, names in pedigrees, and notes on manuscripts and inscriptions. Several books also record folklore and legends.

The Coligny calendar,

Papers, 1898-1910, relating to the 'The Coligny calendar' by John Rhŷs. The paper was originally delivered at the British Academy, and subsequently published in its Proceedings, vol. IV (London, 1910). They mostly consist of proofs, 1909-1910, some containing manuscript amendments and corrections by the author, of 'The Coligny calendar', 'Notes on the Coligny calendar: additions and corrections', and 'The reconstruction of the Coligny calendar'. Also included are two letters, 1910, from J. K. Fotheringham, and printed copies of the charts compiled by Dissard and Espérandieu, 1898 and 1900.
