Will[ia]m Moss, Carmarthen,

He has written to Mr Jno. Jones of Brecon, solicitor, on the subject of furnishing the swords and javelins for the men of 'our' high sheriff, L. P. Jones, esq.; recipient is requested to write a note in writer's favour.

W[illia]m M[orga]n Davies, Llanstephan,

By recipient's letter to writer's sister 'we' find that recipient has served David Ree[s] of Cefenllan with a writ; on account of the many depredations which have been committed continually, he must pay all charges and expenses, as 'we' wish to frighten other persons who are unknown to 'us'. Damaged.

W[illia]m Lloyd, London, late of the old Bear, Landovery,

Writer was declared a bankrupt in the year '78 and surrendered himself at guild hall; as nothing further has been done, he desires recipient to take his affair in hand and dispose of his house at Landovery for the benefit of his creditors; writer was lately obliged to relinquish his business; the title deeds are with the mortgagee Edward John of Rhandir isha; writer desires notice to be given to his creditors in the Hereford and Gloucester papers and at Landovery, Lansawel, Lanworda, Mothve and Kilycum; writer left all particulars of what was due to him in the country with his assignees, who are both dead; it was writer's misfortune to be 'Perswaded By that infernal man Baxter'; writer desires a line from recipient to be left at Mr Harris, Grocer, No.152 Oxford Street, London.

W[illia]m Lloyd, London,

Recipient has informed writer that Baxter has laid claim to his house, although writer has only assigned it for the benefit of his creditors; writer had been arrested by Mr Williams of Lloynyberllan at the suit of David Price of forest; Baxter then advised writer to go out of the way, and to give him a letter of attorney to collect what was due, and that he would settle everything with writer's creditors; writer went for London immediately, and Baxter, an infernal villain, followed him and persuaded him to a conveyance of his house in trust for his creditors; writer has found that his house was not sold by the Commissioners, and he desires recipient to make the most of it for the benefit of his creditors; when his affairs are finally settled writer desires a certificate signed by his creditors.

W[illia]m Lloy[d], London,

Writer has been offered £20 for the Old Bear since he wrote to Edward John's nephew; writer has been very ill and has no hopes of recovery. Damaged. Note: Letters from Richard Jones Llwyd appear also under Richard Jones, his former name.

?W[illia]m Lloyd,

Enclosed was a bill of 'this' bank for £91.17.6, being the amount of the moiety of the sums set down in an appended list of gentlemen [concerning the Carmarthenshire canal].

W[illia]m Jones, Ystradwalter,

A head servant with writer when Mr Sylv[anus] Lloyd and he gravelled the roads opposite their lands is the most proper parson to attend to satisfy the trustees about the Rev[eren]d Mr Lloyd's bill; writer is very unwell; the carts employed by the Trust have torn up the best spot on his farm; with respectful compliments to recipient and family.

W[illia]m Jones, Gurrey,

Writer's father had offered to give the old people of Caye Newid £10 a year during the lease, but they wanted a further sum for the son and daughter; recipient is requested to endeavour to get them out of possession by Michaelmas and to bring an action for the repairs; the people to whom they have sold the hay are afraid to cut it; writer's love to all recipient's family and compliments to Miss Price.
