The file contains miscellaneous printed material, 1947-1993 (with gaps), which mainly reflect Glyn Jones's interests, including press cuttings, [1900]-1989 (with gaps), and invitations to various exhibitions and other events, [1954]-1991 (with gaps). Some items contain references to Glyn Jones. The papers include an 'Advance list of subscribers' to the magazine Wales, 1947; and an English literature exam paper which includes the poem 'Linnet' by Glyn Jones, 1966.

Poetry and prose readings

The file comprises papers, [1950]-1990 (with gaps), relating to various poetry and prose readings and performances which include poems by Glyn Jones, and events which he arranged or in which he participated. These include notes for a reading by Glyn Jones which appears to have been delivered during the funeral or memorial service of Gwyn Thomas, 1981; a passage from The valley, the city, the village, [?1987]; and notes for a reading by Glyn Jones on the occasion of Roland Mathias's 75th birthday, 1990. A number of events were presented by, or in association with, the Arts Council of Great Britain Welsh Committee and later the Welsh Arts Council. The file also contains programmes, correspondence and notes, including a draft review of the poetry festival, Poetry at the Mermaid, pertaining to poetry festivals held in England, 1954 and 1961.

Poems '76

The file comprises papers, [1975]-1976, relating to Poems '76, ed. Glyn Jones (Llandysul, 1976). The poems included in the anthology appeared between 1974 and 1976, though it seems they were composed, and some published, before this period. The file includes certificates awarded to Glyn Jones, 1911-1912, 1914-1916; desk diary, 1952; curriculum vitae, [c. 1955] and [c. 1980]; a printed copy of Divertimento for oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon by Alun Hoddinott, dedicated 'to Glyn Jones on his 60th birthday' and signed by the composer, 1965; copies of the running order for the Welsh Union of Writers' tribute to Glyn Jones, held at the Chapter, Cardiff, 1991, with Harri Pritchard Jones's introduction and an address by Glyn Jones; copies of the Order of Service at his funeral, [1995]; and membership cards, programmes etc. of various societies, including The Phoenix Club and The Cardiff Writer Circle, 1952-1968 (with gaps).

The file comprises notebooks, 1926x[1995], containing various notes in the hand of Glyn Jones. Included are notes taken during lectures and classes which he attended; Welsh grammar, vocabulary and translations; journals containing various observations and jottings (some of which may have been used for stories); plots, notes and drafts of mostly stories; recollections of Anglo-Welsh writers; notes pertaining to Anglo-Welsh writers; and notes concerning English literature.

Miscellaneous translations

The file comprises cuttings of the column 'Y Cronicl Cenhadol' in the periodical Y Tyst, 1946-1948, which appear to have been translated into Welsh by Glyn Jones; and a translation into English of the short story 'Pant y Bril', by D. J. Williams, published in Planet, 1971.

Miscellaneous poetry

The file consists of mainly manuscript and typescript drafts of poems by Glyn Jones, [1930x1995]. Among the papers are Polish translations of poems by him which appeared in the periodical Tygodnik kulturalny, 1983, and drafts of sections of the poem 'Seven Keys to Shaderdom', including a letter from Richard Poole, editor of Poetry Wales, 1992. Some of the poems are written on paper containing other drafts by Glyn Jones and material pertaining to Yr Academi Gymreig.

'Llwch Haiarn'

The file comprises papers, [c. 1858]-1900 and 1936, pertaining to David William Jones ('Llwch Haiarn'), paternal grandfather of Glyn Jones. These include poetry in his hand, 1863x1897, which appear to have been composed by him and a number of which were entries for local eisteddfodau; a notebook dated 1862; two Valentine cards; a framed memorial card, 1900, which contains englynion by other poets as tributes to 'Llwch Haiarn'; and a newspaper cutting, 1936, which contains a reference to him.

The group comprises the literary papers, [1930]-1995 (with gaps), of Glyn Jones, including drafts of, and correspondence and notes relating to, novels, short stories, poems and various prose works, translations, libretti, articles and reviews, mainly radio scripts, talks and readings, adjudications, press cuttings, and correspondence.

The series comprises papers, [1952]-1987 (with gaps), including manuscript and typescript drafts, relating to the school musical 'The burgomaster's daughter' and the opera 'The Beach of Falesá', for which Glyn Jones wrote the libretto.

Leslie Norris

The file consists of typescript poems, some drafts, by Leslie Norris, 1968-1985 (with gaps). Some include manuscript amendments and notes in the hand of Leslie Norris and a number are signed by the poet. Several items also contain brief notes in the hand of Glyn Jones, which mostly appear to identify poems included in Ransoms, or Mountains, polecats, pheasants.

John Tripp and others

The file includes drafts, 1976, of the poem by John Tripp, 'Poet in the village', on the occasion of the publication of Selected poems, and a copy of the script of the play 'It's not by his beak you judge a woodcock', 1972, adapted by John Tripp from the short story by Glyn Jones; typescript copies of poems by Roland Mathias, [1944x1980], some of which contain manuscript amendments; and copies of plays by Dedwydd Jones, with printed leaflets and covering letter [?1963x1973].
