A manuscript, in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), containing 'Cerddwriaeth Simwnt Fychan' (ff. 1-43 verso, first sequence) and the 'Rhetoreg' of William Salesbury, which was originally a translation of a Latin treatise on rhetoric (ff. 1-47, second sequence). There are copious references to the source materials for both parts, the names mentioned including John Jones, Gellilyfdy, William Maurice and Roger Morris (ff. 1 (first sequence), 46 verso (second sequence)). A note by Ieuan Fardd states that he transcribed these works in 1776 (f. 46 verso). For Simwnt Fychan's 'Cerddwriaeth' see also Peniarth MS 159 and Jesus College MS 9.
A composite volume, mainly in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), copied from manuscripts of Lewis Morris and others 'ynghylch y flwyddyn 1765' (p. i), including 'Englynion y Beddau' (pp. 1-15) and 'Englynion y Clywed' (pp. 15-28); 'Gildas Nennius' (pp. 49-60). The second part (ff. 1-35) contains 'Hanes Taliessin' (pp. 61-69); genealogies taken from a manuscript of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt (pp. 80-89); extracts from Dares Phrygius, Brut y Brenhinedd and Brut y Tywysogion (pp. 97-101); Bonedd y Saint (pp. 109-115); 'Hanes yr ymrysson rhwng Edmund Prys a W. Cynwal' (pp. 117-123); notes and extracts; etc. A letter, 7 December 1758, from Lewis Morris, Penbryn, to Evan Evans, Llanllechid, is tipped into the volume (pp. 135-138).

Pp. 15-107 are in the autograph of Dafydd Benwyn (see pp. 25, 78, 81); pp. 110-203 were written c. 1624 (see p. 110); and pp. 211-240 are in the same hand as that in Llanstephan MS 134. The remaining pages are in various hands: pp. 108-109 and four lines of p. 209 may be in the autograph of Siôn Mawddwy, and pp. 241-243 may be in that of Edward Dafydd. A manuscript containing the works of the medieval Welsh bards, being a transcript by William Maurice, Llansilin (see p. 492) of British Museum Addl MS 14869. Pp. 69, 119 and 141 bear respectively the dates 1September, 4 October and 6 October [16]66; however, according to an autograph statement by William Maurice at the end of Addl MS 14869 (p. 245b), he completed the transcript on 24 November 1662. Maurice notes (pp. 473-474) that the original manuscript (now known as British Museum Addl MS 14869), from which this text was transcribed, was partly written temp. Edward II and Edward III and partly temp. Henry V. In an autograph statement on pp. 473-474 William Maurice notes that this original manuscript was once in the possession of Gruffydd Dwnn (c. 1500-c. 1570), Huw Llŷn (fl. 1532-1594) and Rhys Cain (d. 1614), and subsequently came into the possession of Robert Vaughan 'or Wengraig ger llaw Dolgellau' (i.e. Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt (1592-1667)). A later note by 'M. W[illiams]' (p. 474) dated 1728 states that this original manuscript was then at Hengwrt.
A manuscript relating to the Welsh 'cynfeirdd' and inscribed 'Y llyfr hwn a ddatyscrifennais i Evan Evans o law deg y Doctor Davies o Fallwyd', i.e. taken from British Library Addl. MS 14869. The text of this manuscript was reproduced in the Myvyrian Archaiology.
Two volumes of transcripts, [1758], compiled Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), subsequently bound as one volume. Part I (foliated 1-153) contains 'The Gododin an Heroic poem of the sixth Century transcribed from a Copy of Thomas Wiliams of Trefriw M.D., and the Works of Taliessin from Dr Davies of Mallwyd's hand, and other particulars wrote by the Revd Mr. Evan Evans' (f. 1) and includes transcripts of Llyfr Aneirin (ff. 5 verso-36), Llyfr Taliesin (ff. 37-126) and other manuscripts. Part II (foliated 1-73) contains further poetry, by poets including Llywarch Hen, Iolo Goch, Dafydd ab Edmwnd and Gutun Owain (ff. 1-28, 34 verso-47); notes on Welsh orthography (following the cywydd beginning at f. 19); a list of poets from a manuscript of Dr John Davies (f. 39 verso); a copy of Sir Thomas Wiliems's Preface to his Latin-Welsh Dictionary (ff. 48-64); a letter, dated 26 January 1757, from Lewis Morris to 'Mr. Vaughan of Corsygedol' (ff. 65-69); a letter, dated 14 June 1755, from Richard Morris to the same Mr Vaughan, enclosing a copy of the Transactions of the Society of Cymmrodorion and referring to Lewis Morris and to Goronwy Owen (ff. 70-71); and a table of contents for Part I only, [?in the hand of Owain Myfyr] (f. 72).
A manuscript in the hand of Evan Evans containing poetry mostly derived, indirectly, from the Black Book of Carmarthen (Peniarth MS 1) and the Red Book of Hergest (Oxford, Jesus College MS 111). A table of contents, in a later hand, is on pp. 179-180. This transcript was adopted by the editors of the Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales for their text or for their notes.
A manuscript in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing a Welsh Grammar, consisting of 'Pymp Llyfr Cerddwriaeth' (pp. 1-101) and 'Trioedd Cerdd' (pp. 102-115). At the end of the volume is a note by Evan Evans stating 'Y Gramadeg uchod a fenthygiwyd gennyfi Evan Evans offeiriad y gan y Parchedig Mr. Robert Nannau Periglor Llan Fwrog, a yscrifenwyd gan Robert Fychan or Hengwrt ag a ddatscrifennwyd ... yn 1784'.
A manuscript in the hand of [?the Rev. John Pryce] (see Llanstephan MS 187) containing proverbs, 'mesureu kerd', etc. It is a copy of the same original as Peniarth MS 155, pp. 3-168.
A manuscript containing prophecies in prose and verse and including alleged prophecies of Myrddin and Taliesin and the works of Iolo Goch, Dafydd Llwyd and Rhys Nanmor. The text at p. 39b is said to be 'copied out of the Chronicle of Guttun Owain'. The text at the end beginning 'Proffwydoliaeth Banastr o Brydain fawr ...' is continued on p. 13 of the manuscript.
A manuscript containing transcripts by David Parry from the Red Book of Hergest, together with other poetry, the volume being compiled before it was given to Jesus College, Oxford in 1701. The contents of the volume are as follows: A Welsh Grammar copied from the Red Book of Hergest (col. 1117), with collations by Samuel Williams from Llanstephan MS 3, p. 472 (original foliation I-Vb, 1-7); a copy of the poetry on cols 1143-1356 of the Red Book of Hergest (original foliation 7-12b, original pagination 13-168, 169-265); followed by sixteen leaves at the end of the manuscript containing poems by Robin Ddu o Fôn, Tudur Aled, Rhys Nanmor and others, together with the pedigree of Sir Rhys ap Thomas. Samuel Williams has copied a good many of the older material in a modernised orthography on the side left blank by the original copyist. There are also marginalia in the hand of Moses Williams. A note, probably in the hand of Samuel Williams, on p. 265 (original pagination) reads 'All the Poetry collated March 27 . 1722'.

The manuscript is written in three different hands: pp. 1-102 belong to the third quarter of the sixteenth century; pp. 103-130 to the fourth quarter of the sixteenth century; and pp. 131-146 are in the hand of Sir Thomas Wiliems in his earliest style, c. 1576.
