The file contains letters to J. E. Powell from Thomas Gee, A. C. Humphreys-Owen, John Eiddon Jones and Harry Reichel; a letter regarding an article written by Thomas Gee (enclosed) and a request by John Humphreys, journalist for the Liverpool Daily Post, 1896, requesting an article in response. It also includes drafts of speeches; invitations to the opening of the new Aberdare Hall, 1895; the installation of H. R. H. Prince of Wales in Aberystwyth, 1896, and the opening of a new building at the Bangor County School for Girls, 1897; a draft of the Intermediate Education Wales Bill; together with a scheme for Intermediate Education Constitution and Powers of Education Commissioners Finance.

The 1982 group comprises the research notes of Herbert John Fleure, 1966-1967, mainly concerned with the distribution of blood groups in the United Kingdom, with special reference to Wales, comprising notes and drafts for Ada C. The file contains mainly letters addressed to O. M. Edwards, and a small number to their parents or their sister. The majority of the letters were sent from St John's College, Cambridge, where the writer was a student, or from Aberystwyth, where he was a lecturer and subsequently Professor of History. They describe his activities, pursuits and surroundings in some detail. There are also some references to family news and events.

Aberystwyth miscellanea,

An album compiled by George Eyre Evans, containing a collection of one hundred and ninety-five autograph letters, manuscript poems and other documents, printed notices, broadsides, circulars, photographs, etc., of Aberystwyth interest. The majority relate to the Aberystwyth Dispensary, later known as the Aberystwyth Infirmary, and particularly to the payment of subscriptions, 1821-1844. Others relate to the erection and renovation of St Michael's Church, 1825-1846; the restoration of the parish church of Llanbadarn Fawr, 1867; the opening of the Public Library, 1906; and the Exhibition of the Centenary of the Introduction of Printing, 1909.
Included in the volume is a typescript schedule of the documents.
