Purchases include rent charges issuing from Ffynon Caradog, Dorglwyd, Penycefn, Troedrhiwgwinau, etc., from the Powell family of Nanteos, 1877, and Ffoesyfydir, Alltddu and Tyntwll, from John Richards of Tynpynfarch, 1897. The file also contains a lease by the Commissioner of Her Majesty’s Woods, Forests and Land Revenues to Sir Pryse Pryse of Gogerddan and John Thomas Morgan of Nantceiro to maintain a fence illegally erected on crown land in the manor of Perfedd between the sheepwalks of Blaenpaithnant and Henhafod, 1882; and a lease by Sir Pryse Pryse of Tynyfron and fields in Llanbadarn Fawr and Faenor Uchaf, 1883. Title deeds for two parcels of land called Tir Allt Forgan and Tir Aber Nant in the parish of Llambadarn Fawr, comprising a mortgage by Maurice ap John ap Ridderch of Llanychaearn, Cardiganshire, to David ap Gruffith ap Ieuan ap Ll'n, 1556, and subsequent sale to Owen ap David ap Griffith 1564; and a mortgage by the latter to John Pryse of Gogerddan, 1568/9.

Llanbadarn Fawr (Brynbras and Perfedd)

Letters patent of Elizabeth I, 1562 (copy), and James I, 1608, granting to John Pryse and Sir Richard Pryse respectively the farm of Brymbras (Brynbras) in the parish of Llanbadarn Fawr, with various tenements in the commote of Perfedd, some of which had been in the tenure of Griffith ap Ll'n Vayne, attainted, and which had been granted in 1564 to William Herle; also recording grants of lands in Llanbadarn Trefeglwys, previously in the possession of Rise ap Morys ap Morgan, felon, properties in East Pembroke, once lands of Jasper Tudor, Duke of Bedford, lands in Carmarthen which were part of the possessions of Rice Griffith, attainted, and Tir Bache, a fulling mill in Llanfihangel-ar-arth.

Title deeds of properties in Heol y Felin in the village of Llanbadarn Fawr, 1566-1738. They include a deed of sale by William Thomas and Catherine vch Gruf' Saier his wife, and others to John Pryse of Gogerddan, of land called Parkie Pwll Hobbi in Heol y Felin, 1566; a mortgage by James Lewis, son and heir apparent of Thomas Lewis, deceased, 1605; a bond to John ap Hugh of Gogerddan, for quiet possession of Tythyn yn Heol y Velin, 1613; and a sale of livestock by Francis Ingram of Glanleri, sheriff, under a court order, and a mortgage of Tythyn Blaen Nant Yr Efel and several other properties previously mortgaged, including Tythyn David Thomas in Heol y Felin, Fronfraith and Tythin Heol y Felin, in order to satisfy a debt owed by Evan Lloyd to Thomas Pryse of Gogerddan, 1738.

The properties include Tythyn Penydarren, purchased by John Pryse of Gogerddan, 1571; Tythyn Nant y Keyr and Tythyn y Keunant, in a family settlement of Edward ap John ap Ieuan Goch, 1571; Tythyn Aber Mynydd, 1581; Tythen Glann Tyenn, Tythyn Cwme Rydole, Tythen Bwa Drain, Tythen Pant Gwyn, Tythen Bryn Bras and Tythen Gelli Lechog, Llyest Nant Goredyn and Aber Hirnant, previously belonging to Gruffith ap Lle'n Vayne lately attainted for high treason, and assigned to Richard Pryse of Gogerddan, 1582; Llettyr Cawsty, Tyddyn Savodryn and Ystlys y Gors Velen, comprised in a family settlement of Watkyn Thomas, 1583/4; Tir David Lloyd ap Mer'edd, 1584; Tythin Bwlch y Brynar, 1589; Tuy Pant yr Hwch, 1592/3; Tythin Ieuan ap Howell ap Rees in Parsel Canol, in a fine levied to Richard Pryse in 1593; and Y Llyast Yn Y Vyghes Gay, 1596/7. Llanbadarn Fawr (Heol y Bont and Heol Dan y Fynwent)

Title deeds comprising a mortgage by Maurice ap David ap Jenkin to Richard Pryse of Gogerddan, of a messuage and garden in Heol y Bont, Llanbadarn Fawr, 1588; and a gift by David ap Rees, son and heir of Rees David, otherwise Gove, to Richard Pryse, of a house and garden called Tuy Rees y Gove, bordered by Heol Dan y Fonwent on the north, with bond, 1608.

Llanbadarn Fawr (Parson’s Mill)

An assignment by Richard Pryse of Gogerddan to his son John Pryse of a lease originally granted to him by Sir Henry Johnes of Abermarlais in 1585, of Parson’s Mill in the parish of Llanbadarn Fawr and a moiety of the tithe of fish or herring, together with the rectory and tithes of Llanfihangel Genau’r-glyn and the chapel of Llangynfelyn, 1602; and a bargain and sale by representatives of the Crown to Sir Richard Pryse, of Parson’s Mill, part of the dissolved monastery of Vale Royal, 1613/14.

Title deeds of houses and meadows in Dyffryn Clarach and Llangorwen, parts of which are described as being in the township of Faenor in the parish of Llanbadarn Fawr and in Cyfoethybrenin, usually listed under Llanfihangel Genau’r-glyn, 1506-1798, 1895. Properties include Wirglodd Wyllt, Gwyrglodd Robin, the tenement of Maurice ap Jenkin ap Ieuan Gryth, and Tythyn y Rhiwel, acquired by John Pryse and Sir Richard Pryse of Gogerddan between 1564 and 1634; Tythyn Aber Nant Killan Issa, purchased by Edward Pryse, 1698/9, and Rhos Kellan, agreed for sale to John Pughe Pryse, 1766; and the school house at Clarach, 1798. Dyffryn Clarach (Wirglodd Wyllt)

Title deeds of meadows in Dyffryn Clarach in the parish of Llanbadarn Fawr, mainly Wirglodd Wyllt, 1506-1564. The first deed is a gift by Philip B’enythe of Cardigan, to John Glayse of Aberystwyth of a moiety of Y Weyrglothe Hallte, by the river Ystwyth and the land of the abbot called Ang' Terr', 1506. The remaining deeds refer to several meadows including two moieties of Wirglodd Wyllt, the first of which was assigned by the mortgagee of Richard ap David ap Rudderch of Llanbadarn Fawr and Richard ap Rees ap David Lloid, his trustee, to John Pryse of Gogerddan in 1564; previous mortgagees had included Edward Roodes, vicar of Llanbadarn Fawr. The second half was assigned by the son of the mortgagee of Philip Williams of Aberystwyth and Elen vch Lewes ap Rudd’gh his wife, to John Pryse of Gogerddan, 1563/4.

Dyffryn Clarach and Llangorwen (misc. properties)

Title deeds for houses and lands mainly in Dyffryn Clarach and Llangorwen in the parish of Llanbadarn Fawr, 1555-1634. Boundaries include the lands of the Queen, Yr Afon Ryd and Trwyn y Gribin. The properties include a meadow called Y Gorse Dee, mortgaged by Richard ap David ap Rudderch of Llanbadarn Fawr and Richard ap Res D'd Lloid his trustee, 1556/7; Erw Aber Killan, Klawdd y Pandy and Y Llayn Dan Vryn y Kastel, comprised in a mortgage and bonds by Watkin ap Richard of Llanbadarn Fawr, 1599, 1608, 1620; Tythen yr Erw Veinioge, Tythen Keven Moelvre and Tythen Pant Gwyn, comprised in family deeds of Morice David ap Ieuan ap Moris of Llanfihangel Castell Gwallter, 1578, and John Moris ap David, 1605, and sold to Sir Richard Pryse in 1614; Ty Mawre Nessa at Pont Llangwrwen in the township of Faenor, purchased by Rees ap Ieuan Walter; and Tythyn Issa, in the manor of Y Dre ar Faenor in Clarach, subject of a bond for conveyance to Sir Richard Pryse after redemption of the mortgage, 1634. The remaining deeds are mortgages and bonds of Phillipp Williams of Aberystwyth, David Lloid ap Watkin of Llanbadarn Fawr, William ap Ieuan ap Thomas of Llanbadarn Fawr, and Richard Phellippes of Aberystwyth, 1555-1593.

Dyffryn Clarach (Gwyrglodd Robin)

Title deeds of a meadow called Gwyrglodd Robin in Dyffryn Clarach in the parish of Llanbadarn Fawr, 1571-1603. They comprise mortgages of parts of the meadow by Richard Phillipps of Aberystwyth to John Pryse of Gogerddan, 1571, Richard Pryse, 1584, and Meredith David Lloid of Llanbadarn Fawr, 1597, followed by a sale by Richard Phillipps and his son Henry to Richard Pryse, 1602/3, with related bonds. There is also an assignment by Thomas Pryse of Glanfred, another mortgagee, to Richard Pryse, 1602.

Title deeds of a messuage called Tythyn y Rhiwel in Dyffryn Clarach in the parcel of Cyfoethybrenin, 1584-1592. They comprise a deed of sale by Humphrey ap Mores ap Ieuan Lloyd of Llanfihangel Genau'r-glyn to Owen ap Jenkin ap Ieuan ap Deio of Llangynfelyn, 1584, and a sale by the latter to Richard Pryse of Gogerddan, 1584/5; with a subsequent quitclaim by Helen vch John ap Ieuan of Tywyn, Merioneth, widow of Humphrey ap Morice ap Ieuan Lloid, 1592.

Title deeds of Tythyn Aber Nant Killan Issa or Nant Kellan (Nant Cellan) in Llawr Rhandir or Parsel Clarach in the parish of Llanbadarn Fawr, 1660-1699, and Rhos Kellan, 1766-1789. The deeds for Aber Nant Killan comprise a family settlement by David Lloyd Mores of Llanbadarn Fawr and Katherin his wife, 1660; and a deed of sale by Meredith David Lloyd to Edward Pryse of Gogerddan, with related agreements, 1698-1699.
