Bundles of music manuscripts mostly in the hand of Iolo Morganwg, including a file of traditional music, previously 'IAW 145' (E1/1); manuscripts of a few further traditional tunes (E1/2); bundles of miscellaneous music manuscripts, including salmau, traditional music, English tunes, etc. (E1/3-5); and loose leaves originally belonging to a single tune book (E1/6).
The contents of E1/1 have been published in Alawon Gwerin Iolo Morganwg, ed. by Leila Salisbury (Aberystwyth, 2012), together with six further tunes (Nos. 4, 5, 17, 28, 40, 50) designated 'IAW 145 (uncat.)', all now to be found in E1/2.

Three paper rolls, on rollers, containing four cywyddau by Iolo Morganwg, dated 1799-1810 (E10/1), Welsh poetry by Iolo, including over 100 englynion and forty-two dyrïau, dated 1778-1816 (E10/2) and Iolo's bardic alphabet, [c. 1817] (watermark 1815) (E10/3); together with another blank roll and an empty roller (E10/4-5). Also in the box is a bundle of papers containing a 'Survey for Mr Davies Pantysgallog', [1824] (E10/6); a few miscellaneous maps and drawings (E10/7); and three scraps of parchment, one containing a miniature painting of some goats (E10/8-10).

Numerous old covers (85) and empty cases (18) providing evidence of the original condition of Iolo's notebooks and for the dating of their rebinding by Taliesin. Among the contents is a bundle of covers and binding leaves containing relatively substantial notes and other manuscript material, as well as one completely blank notebook.

Fifteen manuscript tune books belonging to Iolo Morganwg, including five volumes of hymn-tunes composed by him for his Welsh hymns or 'salmau', each entitled 'Salmyddiaeth Iolo Morganwg' or variants thereof (E2/1-5), together with several others containing at least some salmau (E2/8-12). Also included are volumes containing English hymns (E2/6, 11), Tribannau (E2/13) and Scottish airs (E2/15).

A large bundle of music manuscripts, [19 cent., first ¼], comprising booklets, loose sheets and fragments, containing mainly hymn- and psalm-tunes in the hand of Iolo Morganwg.
Also included is the original card case used by Iolo to store the manuscripts.

A bundle of loose sheets (E4/1) and five small booklets (E4/2) containing various drafts of introductions and glossaries for Iolo's hymns, or 'salmau', presumably intended for the two volumes of his Salmau'r Eglwys yn yr Anialwch (1812, 1834); together with two bundles containing drafts and fragments of Iolo's salmau (E4/3-4).

Twenty-eight notebooks and bundles, 1796-1815, consisting of travel journals and agricultural notes relating mainly to Iolo Morganwg's work for the Board of Agriculture in Glamorgan and Carmarthenshire in 1796 and his contribution to Gwallter Mechain's General View of the Agriculture and Domestic Economy of South Wales (London, 1815).
Also included are fragments of tours in parts of England (E5/13); a journal of his tour to North Wales in 1799, collecting materials for the Myvyrian Archaiology (E5/18, formerly 'IAW 144'); bundles of loose agricultural notes (E5/26-27); and geological notes relating to Glamorgan (E5/28).

Two bundles of Welsh and English poetry mostly by, or in the hand of, Iolo Morganwg, 1776-[1826] (E6/1-2), and three notebooks containing poetry and some prose, [late 18 cent.]-1822 (E6/3-5); together with bundles of loose papers containing miscellaneous word lists (E6/6-7), Welsh Triads (E6/8), and medicinal, food and other recipes, 1776-1821 (E6/9).

Miscellaneous notes and papers of Iolo Morganwg, [18 cent., last ¼]-[1830s], on a variety of subjects, including (mainly Welsh) history (E8/1), religion (E8/2), Welsh and English literature, including Dr Johnson (E8/3), Bardism (E8/4) and biography and genealogy (E8/5); together with further bundles of miscellaneous notes and papers, retained in original order (E8/6-9), with subjects including politics, printing and Poems Lyric and Pastoral, 1784-[c. 1809] (E8/6), patriarchal religion, priestcraft and Lewis Morris (E8/7), poetry and monumental inscriptions (E8/8) and salmau (E8/9); and a case containing notes on Welsh manuscripts in the British Museum and at Jesus College, Oxford (E8/10).

Miscellaneous papers of Iolo Morganwg, collected in seven bundles with little or no unity (E9/1-7). Included is a bundle of fragments found amongst the papers of his son Taliesin (E9/7).

Correspondence of Aneurin Williams, [?1868]-1908, including letters addressed to him from his parents, his siblings and their spouses, and his cousins the Petherick family, 1879-1908; and letters from him to his parents and brothers, [?1868]1899; together with letters from his wife Helen to his mother, 1888-1899; papers relating to his role as executor of the wills of Mary Petherick and Elizabeth Bowman, 1878-1891; and miscellaneous personal papers, 1879-1898.

One hundred and twenty-two letters, 1879-1885, from Edward Williams, Middlesbrough, to his second son Aneurin Williams.

Ninety-six letters, [?1868]-1899, from Aneurin Williams to his Mother [Mary Elizabeth Williams], (77) [?1868]-1899, Father [Edward Williams], (16) 1884-1885, and brothers Penry, (1) 8 January 1884, and Illtyd, (2) 15-20 September 1888. The letters are sent mostly from the United States, continental Europe and Egypt.

Twenty-six letters and cards, 1888-1899, from Helen E[lizabeth] Williams (née Pattinson), wife of Aneurin Williams, to her mother-in-law Mary Elizabeth Williams.

Thirty-seven letters, 1882-1887, from Mary Petherick, Abergavenny and Hereford, to Aneurin WIlliams, her first cousin once removed.
Williams was later the executor of Petherick's will (see F18).
