Boxes of photographs being a mixture of those derived from commercial sources (such as record labels, publishers, arts bodies and television companies) and those taken especially for Urdd publications such as features and competitions. Most are the work of professional photographers.

These 44 photographs were for publicity and marketing purposes and distributed by record companies, agents etc. They were sent to the Urdd for use in their publications.

Includes many photos of artefacts and buildings from the National Museum of Wales and St Fagans respectively. Artefacts include a Welsh Not, Gefel Gwn, Car Llusg, Corn maidens, Sedan Chair.

Photographs of sporting activities, individuals, professional and amateur teams involved in sport in Wales. Includes disabled athletes, JPR Williams playing in the Junior Lawn Tennis Championships, Wimbledon in 1965, features on horseback riding, Also some world famous sportsmen, eg Mohammed Ali.

Mainly b&w photos of animals from around the world. Included are indigenous mammals such as Wood Mouse and otter; insects, fish, also British domestic animals (inc ponies from the Llanarth stud). There are also a number of photos of hyenas, lions etc from game parks in East Africa; Kitsch shots of children with animals; zoo animals, pets etc. Of particular interest is a still from the BBC Drama 'It's a Dogs Life' starring Ruth Madoc, a photo of a fisherman who encountered the Loch Ness Monster (details on reverse of photo) and behind the scenes views from London Zoo.
