Estate, financial, legal, personal, domestic, industrial and commercial papers of the several families who held the Plas Power estate, notably the Myddeltons, Lloyds and FitzHughs, including some papers relating to the Myddelton family of Chirk and their estates.

Letters to other identified recipients, predominantly members of the Fownes, Myddelton and FitzHugh families and households, and their representatives and associates, together with those of the Lloyd family after Rev. Thomas Lloyd moved to Plas Power in 1720; included are letters from William Fownes, Richard Myddelton, Mary Myddelton and Roger Mostyn; as well as a letter from [Philip, duke of] Wharton, to his sister Lady Jane Holt, 1726, expressing his concern for his family in the light of his appointment as Jacobite ambassador to the Holy Roman Empire; a letter from John Yorke with military news from 'camp between Balaklava and Sebastopol', October 1854, and a copy of his letter from 'Balaklava Harbour'; and two letters from E.J. Stracey from Balaclava, October [1854], and 'camp before Sebastopol', December 1854, concerning military affairs and the condition of the army.

Papers relating to the administration of the Plas Power estate and household, including some properties belonging to the Chirk estate, some but not all of which became part of the Plas Power estate; also included are some records from other properties in England that were owned by the Myddelton family.

A proposal, 1662, to establish a joint stock company for a fishery on the coast of Wales, together with a bill, 1730, concerning a cargo of French wine bound from Dublin to Chester. (Sir Richard Myddelton served as Collector and Surveyor of His Majesty's Customs from 1660 until 1686.)

Wills and associated inventories and grants of probate, together with copies, relating to members of the Myddelton and Lloyd families, as well as Powells, Corbets and others, especially tenants of the Plas Power and Chirk estates.

Bonds,

Ninety four bonds relating to monies, services and other dues owed to and by Mary Myddelton, William Lloyd, John Wynne and many others, including endorsements and notes of receipt.

Public administration,

Papers relating to the activities of the Myddelton, Lloyd and FitzHugh families in public office. Several members of the Myddelton family held office as Deputy Lieutenants of Denbighshire.
