This catalogue of Pitchford estate records (also known as the 'Pitchford MSS') was prepared by the Historical Manuscripts Commission in 1963, when the records were still housed at Pitchford. In 1983 the National Library of Wales purchased all the items offered for sale by C.R.A. Grant and the owners of the estate. However, not all the papers listed by HMC in 1964 were in fact offered for sale. Nos 2-12 are now held in the Liddell Hart Centre for Military Archives, Kings College London; they comprise military correspondence, 1805-1903, and military miscellanea, 1811-[post-1945]; the Liddell Hart Centre's online description of them is on AIM25, <www.aim25.ac.uk>.
