A volume entitled 'Cerddi Huw ac Edward Morris' containing transcripts by J. H. Davies mainly from NLW Add. MS 9 of 'cerddi', 'carolau', etc. in free metres by Edward Morris ([1607]-89), Perthillwydion, Cerrigydrudion and Huw Morys ('Eos Ceiriog'; 1622-1709), Pontymeibion, Llansilin. At the beginning of the volume is a list of titles, with sources, of printed poems by Edward Morris.

A collection of 'cerddi', 'carolau', etc. by Hugh Morris, together with a 'cerdd' by Huw Jones, Llangwm, a 'cerdd' by the Reverend Walter Davies ['Gwallter Mechain'], anonymous 'englynion, 'carolau' and some financial accounts, 1805 and undated. The volume is in the hand of Huw Jones, Llangwm, with a few later additions by Elizabeth Maurice and by Mary Richards, Darowen. It belonged to Thomas Powel, 1804, and Martha Powel, 1805, and also bears the names of Henry Powel, 1756, John Jones, carpenter, Pentregayr [Oswestry] and Martha Edwards.

A mid-eighteenth century collection of 'cerddi', 'ymddiddanion', etc. by H[uw] M[orys], together with a few poems by Thomas Edwards ['Twm o'r Nant'], Dav[id] Shadrach, David Thomas ('o sir Garen[ar]fon') Thos. Jones (Maes y Cernddi 'in Cowny' [sic]), and anonymous poems, farm accounts and memoranda, 1773-6, and a veterinary recipe. The volume is written in three main hands, of which the third is that of Dav[id] Shadrach.

A manuscript of the second quarter of the eighteenth century containing 'carolau', 'cerddi', 'Ymddiddanion' and 'dyrïau' by Huw Morris, with a number of poems by Ellis Cadwalader, Edward Davies ('o Rhiwlas'), Evan Vaughan ('o Gastellmoch'), Cadwalad[r] ap Robert, Moris Rhobert ('o sir feirionydd'), Thomas Davies ('o sir Drefaldwyn'), Arthur Jones, Robert Cadwalad[r] ('o Blwy Pennant'), Richd. Thomas D'd ('o Sir Fon'), Mathew Owen, Thomas Robert ('o Lyn Ceiriog'), Richard Foulkes? and John Edwards, and anonymous poems; a 'cywydd' and 'englynion' by Rich[ard] Abram, Moris ap Evan ap David, Hugh Morrys, Edward Morris ('or Perthi Llwidion'), Richard [Davies] ('Esgob dewi') and Ragiar [sic] Kyffin; English verses by John Davies and John Hughes, and anonymous poems; an account, 1736, of wages paid the workmen for raising a fence upon [the river] Ceiriog 'under pentre gwyn a Tenem[en]t of the Hond. John Myddelton Esq. [of Chirk Castle]', together with a copy of a covering letter to John Myddelton from Richd. Foulkes; ... L[l]ythur y mae yr gair amdano mai Du[w] ... ai ysgrifenodd ai law i hun y rhwn a gaed ta[n] gareg mewn Tref ai henw Mae Kwmbe ...'; and entries of birth and baptism, 1712-32/3 [at Llansilin] of the children of Richard Foulks [of Rhiwlas] and Jane Griffith, his wife. Bound in at the end of the volume is an original power of attorney, 1674, of Oliver Thomas of Shewsbury [sic], Salop, yeoman, authorising his brother Thomas Rees of Llanymowthwey, Montgomeryshire, yeoman, to sue or to compound persons subscribed for specified debts (backed for the purpose of repairing by a printed prospectus of Robert Davies ('Bardd Nantglyn'): [Diliau Barddas, Dinbych, 1827]). The manuscript is written in several hands, among them that of Richard Foulks.

An imperfect manuscript of the late seventeenth century in the hand of Huw Morys, with copious additions in a number of early eighteenth century hands. It consists largely of 'cywyddau', 'carolau', 'cerddi' and 'dyrïau' by Huw Morys himself, with a few poems in both strict and free metres by Owen Gwynedd, Humphrey Owen, Simwnt Vychan, William Miltwn [Midleton, Myddelton], Doctor Sion Kent, Roger Kyffin, Sion Sgrufen and John Davies ('of Rhiwlas'), and anonymous poems. The volume is lettered 'Barddoniaeth Huw Morys'.

An eighteenth century copy of an interlude which lacks a title but which is based on events of the Civil War, the Commonwealth and Protectorate, and the Restoration. The original work was written by Huw Morys ('Eos Ceiriog', 1622-1709), Pontymeibion, Llansilin, but the present manuscript contains no direct evidence of authorship. There are some additions and corrections in a nineteenth century hand. The upper parchment cover bears the following inscriptions: 'Owens Translation of the Pre. dis. prefixed to the Work of M. Vertot' and 'The foundation of the Roman Republic and the Principal Cause of its ? fall', but neither of these refers to the text of the manuscript. J. H. Davies, probably on the strength of these inscriptions, has tentatively suggested that the work is a translation, but references in the text to Llangollen, Llansilin, Llandderfel, etc. do not support such a view.

A composite volume, written in several hands, containing a list of 'oils, ointments, and plasters, with their uses'; 'Cyngor yr hen Gyrys' [cf. Bbcs ii, 9]; 'Agoriad byr Ar weddi'r Arglwydd' (partly in verse); an imperfect text of 'Chwedlau Odo' ('Dammhegion a scrifenwyd ar femrwn ynghylch y flwyddyn, oedran Crist, 1300'); an account in Welsh of some of the feast days, written after 1660 in an unusual orthography, 'Hynod betheu Iessu Xt. ar ei ddiwedd'; verses entitled 'Ymgomio rhwn [sic] y claf o'r Darfodedigaeth Ai Glwyf' attributed in a later hand to Hugh Moris, and 'Dyriau a wnaed wrth : 139 : psalm Ar Fessur arall'; 'Carolau a Dyriau Duwiol' [cf. Carolau a Dyriau Duwiol (1696), pp. 5-11, 14-34]; Scriptural references; sermon notes (in English); hymn stanzas; and copies of one or two parish certificates and other documents,' c. 1709-10, in which the parishes of Llangynog and Llanllawddog, Carmarthenshire and Cilcennin, Cardiganshire are mentioned. There is some confusion in the pagination here and there: e.g. p. 79 should follow p. 10 and p. 83 should follow p. 76. The end-papers are a folio from a seventeenth century printed book. Inset at the beginning of the volume is a letter, 1924, from D. Lleufer Thomas, Whitchurch, Glamorgan to J. H. [Davies] concerning the manuscript, and a slip of paper with notes in the autograph of J. H. Davies.

A notebook in the hand of J. H. Davies containing an alphabetical index of first lines of poetry by Huw Morys published in W[alter] D[avies] ['Gwallter Mechain'], Eos Ceiriog (Wrexham, 1823), with a few subsequent additions from Cwrtmawr MSS 222, 224 and from Carolau a Dyriau Duwiol ([Shrewsbury] 1696).

An incomplete miscellany, in the form of three unbound volumes, of free- and strict-metre poetry (including illustrative extracts), compiled by David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri') under the title of 'Golwg a'r Parnassus, a Helicon, Sef, Casgliad neulltuol, neu Bigion Dewisol Allan o Waith Prif feirdd neu Brydyddion yr oesoedd, sef y Rhannau hyny o'u Gwaith na ymddangosodd yn argraphedig Hyd yn hyn ond mewn hen Sgrifeniadau, yn Englynion A chywyddau. yn Ddwy Rann; un yn Ddigrifol ar llall yn ddifrifol. O Gascliad, Dewi, ab Thomas, Waunfawr. A Sgrifenwyd yn y flwyddyn 1781'. The preface ('Rhagymadrodd at y Darllenydd') indicates both the period and partly the source of the volume: 'Y Darnau canlynol o Brydyddiaeth a Sgrifennwyd Gennyf yn fy Ieuenctyd, Pan ddechreuais Gyntaf Gael blas, ar farddoniaeth Reolaidd Ac yn ol fy nhŷb i, y Pryd hwnnw, maent yn Brif orchestwaith, Pigion, neu oreuon, Gwaith yr hen Feirdd ... Yr a adsgrifennais wrth ymdeithi[o] yn ddamweiniol, heibio'r lleoedd yr oeddynt iw gweled fel y Gwelwch yn Enwau'r Eglwysydd'. The volume was written during the period 1702-1709 and is in the hand of Hugh Roberts, 'wevar by trate', 'of tan rogo' ('Trigfannol tan rogo yn aber Geley dinbuch'). The manuscript also bears several later names, such as Hugh Jones (1773, 1779), David Williams (born 1779), William Ouan(e)s (1778), 'Hughs Hughs', Llandrillo, Thos. Hughs 'of Llwydga', Wm. Evanes of Nant ycha', Robert 'Highs' (1734), etc.

A volume of 'englynion' entitled 'llyfr wiliam Siôn o fryn saeth', and partly in the hand of David Jones ('Dewi Fardd'). Many of the 'englynion' are unattributed, and the few poets represented in the volume are William Cynwal, Lewis Glyn Cothi, Ellis ap Llew[elyn], Rhys ap Niclas, Sion Philip, Dr. Sion Siengcin, Lewis Menai, Owen Jones ('o dref machynlleth'), Sion Tudur, Thomas Eufan, Ed'd ap Raff, Wm.
