Sir David Maxwell Fyfe, Home Secretary, Whitehall, London SW1. Huw T. Edwards's letter about the closure of the Ministry of Supply Office at Caernarvon. Has discussed the matter with the Minister of Supply. Has been assured that the Regional Officer based at Caernarfon will maintain the close contact which currently prevails between engineering firms based in North Wales and the staff of the Ministry of Supply. The interests of these firms will not suffer as a result of the change. The new arrangement should at least be given a chance to prove itself. Written in reply to A2/66.

Dr Thomas Jones, Brynhir, Penglais, Aberystwyth. His advice to Huw T. Edwards is 'Stick to Poetry and Leave Films alone'. Lord Davies lost a fortune trying to make a film on the League of Nations because he was simply unaware of his ignorance of such matters. The Pilgrim Trust always refused to sponsor amateur film producers. Money could be better spent providing improved accommodation and better pay and pensions for the nurses in the homes in which Huw T. Edwards is interested. Discourages Huw T. Edwards from attempting to make a film.
