Arms and pedigrees,

A Welsh armorial, with indexes of family names and of ordinaries, extracted by C. F. Egerton Allen from Percy Enderbie, Cambria Trivmphans (London, 1661), together with Welsh pedigrees and arms from manuscript and printed sources, e.g., a manuscript among the papers of Dean Allen (i.e., James Allen, dean of St. Davids), a manuscript in the Pentypark Collection, a letter from Theophilus Jones, Brecon, to John Lloyd, dale and Mabws, 1809, etc.

Draft notes, extracts, memoranda, etc., by C. F. Egerton Allen relating to the genealogies mainly of Pembrokeshire families. Some of the material is written on the dorse of applications and testimonials for the posts of Headmaster of the Intermediate School, Penarth, 1896, of Director and Inspector of Education for co. Pembroke, 1904, etc., and on blank forms of an international memorial in support of the disarmament conference summoned by Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia [1899].

Heraldry,

Draft notes, extracts, memoranda, etc., by C. F. Egerton Allen relating to the arms of Pembrokeshire and other families. The material is based on printed sources, memorial stones and tablets, and bookplates, and among the longer items are 'Notes for Ordinary of Arms in Enderbie' (see N.L.W. MS. 12219D) and 'An attempt to trick the coats of arms blazoned in an App[endi]x to Laws 'Little England beyond Wales' pp. 424-446'. Much of the material is written on the dorse of a variety of printed sheets relating to the disarmament conference summoned by Nicholas II of Russia [1899]. Accompanying the material are holograph letters and post cards to C. F. Egerton Allen from E. Hewlett Edwards, Tenby, 1911, J. T. Evans, Stow-on- the-Wold, [19]04, Francis Green, St. Davids, 1910, Mabel Lloyd, Cresborough, Haverfordwest, etc., [19]05-1906 (together with a letter from C. F. Egerton Allen to Mabel Lloyd, [19]05), [Sir] H[enry] O[wen] [London] 1904, and D. P. S. Reid, Boulston, near Haverfordwest, [19]03.

Material relating to the Great and Privy Seals of Owain Glyndwr, including notes by C. F. Egerton Allen, [19]07, and holograph letters to him from D. S. Hughes, The National Hero Picture Company ('The only Authentic Picture of 'Owen Glyndwr"), Prestatyn, 1907-1908 (with manuscript and printed enclosures).

Etchings of Tenby ... (transcript)

An incomplete transcript by Allen of Charles Norris: Etchings of Tenby ... with a short account of that town ... (London, 1812), and of the 'Letter' addressed by Norris [1779-1858] to the burgesses and inhabitants of Tenby in 1831, with notes by Allen.

Pembrokeshire parliamentary election material

A scrapbook containing copies of election addresses, etc. of parliamentary candidates for Pembrokeshire, including some of John H. Allen, Cresselly, with figures showing the state of the poll in 1714, 1768, 1780 and 1807, and press cuttings relating to elections and candidates and to law-cases, some of them being cases of Pembrokeshire interest.
