Coal Strike 1926,

Most of the correspondence and papers relates to the General Strike and the subsequent long lock-out in the coal industry. They include several letters from David Davies to various recipients advocating the establishment of arbitration machinery to resolve the dispute and making suggestions for the conduct of the negotiations. There are also notes in the hand of David Davies relating to possible terms for the re-opening of the coal mines. The file also contains two stray letters, 1904-05, from Rees Jones of the Ocean Coal Company discussing developments in the coal trade.
