An alphabetical card index in J. Lloyd Williams's hand, consisting of comments on the voices of individual singers between 1935 and 1938.
Reports relating to music education in Caernarfonshire, minutes of the Sub-Committee of the county council; feedback from headmasters to a memorandum on music for schools; documents relating to music in schools throughout Wales in general; and related correspondence. J. Lloyd Williams is the author of a number of these reports and the file also includes a critical report by him on the role of Welsh music in the music departments of the University of Wales.

The file, written during his period as a pupil teacher at Llanrwst, comprises a detailed daily plan of work to be undertaken, May 1871-April 1872, particularly in relation to the study of natural history.

Lecture notes on various topics, many with Welsh versions, including 'Response of Protoplasm to External Stimuli', 'Mutual Aid in the Plant World', 'Social Characteristics of Plants', 'Light and Life', 'The Ecology of the Sea Shore', 'Gerddi Gwylt y Wyddfa', and 'Daeareg y Wyddfa'. The manuscript of a paper entitled 'Egwyddor Achos ac Effaith yn ei pherthynas â Bywydeg', is also included, together with a related letter (undated).
The file comprises letters from J. Lloyd Williams's sons, Geraint (26), 1907-1919, and Idwal (7), undated and 1923-1942, to their father.

Letters, 1928-1945, from J. Lloyd Williams, many to friends and acquaintances, some of a personal nature and others relating to lecturing and the performing of Welsh music, in particular in relation to the BBC. Letters from 1943 onwards relate mainly to the proof reading and publication of Atgofion Tri Chwarter Canrif, Y Tri Thelynor and the Journal of the Welsh Folk-Song Society, and contain references to his increasing ill-health. Correspondents include J. C. McLean, [?1937] and 1944; R. E. Vaughan Roberts, 1944, and Jennie Alltwen (Mrs Bell), 1934 and 1938.
