Poetry,

A volume of eighteenth century poetry, and some prose, transcribed by Thomasina Smith, afterwards Thomasina Leach, wife of Abraham Leach [the younger] of Corston. Among the poets represented are R. B. Sheridan, John Dryden, Thomas Gray, and Oliver Goldsmith, and the titles include 'On Sir Joshua Reynolds', 'Address ... spoken by Mrs. Siddons ....', 'Written at Stratford upon Avon at the tomb of Shakespeare', 'On seeing the Prince of Wales at the Ranelagh fete, 1789', etc. The prose items include 'Resolutions form'd to promote regularity at Shanes Castle during the meeting for the play of Cymbeline'.

A volume containing transcripts, with some annotations, of the wills of Thomas Foster of Egham, Surrey, 8 April, 1762 (probate granted 28 November, 1765), Joseph Foster Barham of Queen Ann Street, Middlesex, 22 June, 1832 (probate granted 15 October, 1832), William Joseph Barham of Trecoon, Pembrokeshire, 7 August, 1839 (testator died 26 June, 1840), and the Right Hon. Henry [Tufton], 11th earl of Thanet, 21 December, 1848.

Rental,

A volume containing a rental of properties of the Reverend Dr. Hugh Thomas and Mrs. Mary Thomas in Tenby (e.g. Scotsborough, Knightson, Cornishdown, etc.), 1765-1818, and (beginning at the end) a statement of receipts and disbursements on behalf of Hugh Thomas and Mary Thomas, 1765-1819. The later accounts were kept by Jno. Leach.

A volume containing an inventory of the estate of the late David Allen, Esq., of Dale, Pembrokeshire, 9 May, 1786, and statements of accounts, 1786-1822, of Abraham Leach the younger and John Leach, executors of his will; a statement of account with Messrs. Thomas Coutts & Co., London, 1787-95; and statements of accounts with Mrs. Elinor Lloyd of Dale Castle, and with legatees under her will, 1786-1834. Among the few insets is a holograph letter from B. R. Robertson, Haverfordwest, to John Leach, Pembroke, 1829 (the redemption of a bond).

A volume containing rent accounts, 1802-43, with individual tenants in Pembroke (St. Mary and St. Michael), Narberth, Templeton, Monkton, Pembroke Ferry, Crunwear, Lawrenny, Crinow, etc., Pembrokeshire, and Carmarthen, etc., Carmarthenshire. Inset are holograph letters from J. Leach, Pembroke, to David Raymond, Crunwear, 1836 (the purchase of property), and G. Raynes to [John Leach], [18]65 (the purchase of hoops for a cooper's use).

Two day books containing particulars of personal, household, agricultural, and estate receipts of John Leach, Ivy Tower, Tenby, 1858-1867. At the beginning of MS. 11211 is a rental of properties in the parishes of Carew, Crunwere, St. Florence, St. Mary (Pembroke), and St. Michael (Pembroke), 1862, and inset is a nineteenth century valuation of the Ivy House estate in the parish of Saint Florence, made by Messrs. Goode & Owen, Haverfordwest.

Two herd books of Corston, containing a list of bulls and heifers (with references to purchases, to the awards of prizes at agricultural shows, etc.), 1864-1905, and a list of cows, with dates of calving, 1864-97.

Hunting diaries,

Two volumes of hunting diaries kept by Henry Leach, Corston, from 18 September, 1877, to 31 March, 1887. At the end of the volume are tables giving the dates of visits paid within each season to a large number of places in Pembrokeshire.

Material relating to the formation of the Welsh Black Cattle Society, including typescript minutes of a conference held at Swansea, 20 May, 1904; and draft entries by Lieut.-Colonel Henry Leach for the first Herd Book, together with certificates of entries and two letters to Henry Leach from James Thomas & Son, Haverfordwest, secretaries to the Society, and J. A volume containing rent accounts, 1771-89, with individual tenants of the Corston estate in respect of properties in Loveston, Monkton, Mat[h]ry, Letterston, White Church [in Cemais], Tenby, Templetown, Pembroke, Crunwere, Cosheston, Bigelly, Martheltwy, etc., and of the tithes of the parish of Warren, Pembrokeshire, and of Allt Ddu near Carmarthen. At the end of the volume and on the end-papers are a rental from 1780 of an estate bought of John Rossant in Cosheston and Bigelly; memoranda of leases and payments, 1745-84; and undated valuations and measurements of properties. The volume is indexed. Insets include holograph letters from Thos. Meyler, Llangloffan, 1776, Tho. Rees, Haverfordwest, 1792, B. Allen (undated), etc., and miscellaneous vouchers and accounts, 1769-95 and undated.
