1999 and 2001 Donations

Papers deriving mainly from the activities of Alan Heusaff as General Secretary and Secretary of the International branch, and also of Bernard Moffatt as Assistant General Secretary and General Secretary. They include: administrative and financial documents; correspondence, tracts and press releases relating to the aims of the League, its policies and campaigns, and also general matters concerning Celtic countries and cultures, linguistic minorities, and political movements and ideas; letters and petitions to governments and international bodies; correspondence relating to the compilation, publication and distribution of Carn, including articles for the magazine, with notes; copies, drafts and notes of letters written by Heusaff and Moffatt; press cuttings; letters and other documents forwarded by branch secretaries relating to matters of particular concern; minutes of Annual General Meetings; and some copies of minutes of branch meetings.

2002 Deposit

Papers relating to financial matters and other aspects of the administration of the Celtic League and of its Cornwall Branch, including correspondence, membership details, statements of accounts, circulars, leaflets and other printed material, together with additional political and educational material accumulated by Roy Green. They were accumulated by Roy Green as Treasurer of the Celtic League and as both Secretary and Treasurer of the Cornwall Branch (through which he acquired the papers of his successor as Treasurer, Peter Wills), and also in his capacity as a member of numerous Cornish cultural and political organisations and as a founding member and District Secretary of the Cornish branch of the Communist Party of Great Britain.

2011 Deposit

Papers accumulated by Merfyn Phillips as Secretary of the Wales Branch of the Celtic League, and also by Gwynn Bowyer as Secretary and Treasurer of the Dyfed Area, including correspondence and other administrative records, as well as material relating to Merfyn Phillips's role as Secretary of the Welsh Branch of the Cornish Language Council, his support of Modern Cornish in opposition to other variants of the language, his work with the Cornish publisher An Venton, and his contribution to the Llandudoch-Tredarzek Twinning Committee.

Accounts

Accounts kept by the Branch Treasurer, including reports and quarterly returns, with particular details concerning membership subscriptions and sales of merchandise, and also related notes and correspondence.

Annual General Meetings and General Council Meetings

Papers relating to the League's Annual General Meetings and General Council Meetings, including agendas, minutes, standing orders, circulars, memoranda, draft resolutions, reports, General Secretary's dossiers, press releases, letters to the Treasurer, forms, notes and press cuttings.

Articles and letters for publication

Drafts and copies of manuscript articles and letters on subjects including geography, history, politics, economics, industrial relations, education, culture and minority languages, with special reference to Cornwall, the Soviet Union and eastern Europe, written by Roy Green, often in his capacity as a representative of the Communist Party, with the intention of having them published in journals (including The Western Morning News, The Morning Star, The West Briton, The Cornish Chough, The Camborne-Redruth Packet, Carn, Cronycla Kernewek ha'n Newodhow Keltek, The Diggers of Albion Newsletter, The Cornish Nation, The Cornish Communist, The Country Standard and An Weryn), together with correspondence between some of Green's communist associates in Cornwall and the press concerning the same matters, and related press cuttings.

Bank accounts

Records concerning the Branch's accounts with Lloyds Bank, including statements, chequebooks, forms and letters.

Branch financial reports and the central deposit account

Quarterly financial returns compiled by branches of the League, together with reports submitted by the branches to Annual General Meetings of the League, including details of membership subscriptions, sales of Carn and other merchandise, loans, donations, expenditure on events, and other financial matters, as well as statements concerning the League's central deposit account, with related correspondence and notes.

Agendas and minutes of Branch meetings, with related reports, notes, letters, circulars, press cuttings and invitations to Branch events.

Branch newsletter

Copies of the Cornwall Branch newsletter (at one time named ‘An Resor’), with related memoranda, notes and press cuttings.

Correspondence, newsletters, memoranda, circulars, articles, reports, press releases, agendas of meetings, notes, forms, leaflets, drawings and press cuttings relating to political movements, journals and organisations in Cornwall and the other Celtic countries, including the Celtic League (especially the Man branch), Mebyon Kernow, An Weryn, the Cornish Social and Economic Research Group, the Stannary parliament, Free Cornwall, the Connolly Association, the Irish Democrat, the Shetland movement, and Manx Republican Socialists.

Central administration - correspondence and other papers

Correspondence, together with some tracts, petitions, press releases and cuttings, and administrative and financial documents, together with some minutes of Annual General Meetings and copies of minutes of branch meetings, 1962-1999. Correspondents include Clive Betts, Zonia Bowen, Noëlle Davies, Noel Dempsey, Per Denez, Peter Berresford Ellis, Gwynfor Evans, Julian Cayo Evans, Garret FitzGerald, Yann Fouere, Nick Griffin, Neven Henaff, Alan Heusaff, John Jenkins, John Legonna, Tomas Ó Canainn, Padraig Ó Snodaigh, Meic Stephens, Alan Stivell, Dafydd Elis Thomas, Dafydd Wigley and Jac L. Williams. The matters discussed include the aims of the League, its policies and campaigns, the Celtic countries and cultures, linguistic minorities, political movements and ideas, and the compilation, publication and distribution of Carn. There are also articles submitted for Carn, together with notes, as well as letters and petitions to governments and international bodies. In addition, there are copies, drafts and notes of letters written by Heusaff and Moffatt, and letters and other documents forwarded by branch secretaries relating to matters of particular concern.

Chairman's papers

Papers accumulated by the committee Chairman, comprising agendas and minutes of meetings, reports, correspondence, forms, circulars, notes, newsletters, brochures, leaflets, receipts, songbooks, prospectuses, programmes and press cuttings relating especially to Cornwall's participation in the annual Pan Celtic Festival in Killarney, Ireland (including organisation, fundraising, performances, meetings at the festival, and the festival's constitution), and also meetings of the Celtic Congress in most of the Celtic countries, as well as the administration of the Cornish Branch of the Celtic Congress, and some papers relating to matters particular to Cornwall (notably the Cornish language).

Conference on Cornwall

Papers emanating from a series of conferences on Cornish identity, devolution and associated matters, held in Perranporth under the title 'Conference on Cornwall' and organised by Cowethas Flamank, including detailed notes made by Roy Green on presentations made by conference speakers, as well as agendas, press releases, information sheets, circulars and press cuttings.
