Three account books of a [Lampeter?] draper or grocer, comprising (i) day book, 27 Aug. 1828-8 May 1829, the customers including Mrs Griffiths of Stationers Star, Shany Josiah of Lampeter, David Samuels of Pyllicrynon, John Davies of Gelly fach, John Jones of Rhydydefed, and David Edwards of Grey Hound Inn, and the goods including buttons, calico, candles, canvas, corduroy, fustian, holland, hooks, ribbon, shag, silk, soap, starch, sugar and tea; (ii) day book, 8 May 1829-28 Jan. 1831, the customers including John Evans of Courtnewidd, John Jones of Lampeter, tailor, David Walters of Pontsian, John Williams of Tregwerne, Evan Evans of Tynyfunon, and John Jones of Rhydydefed, and the goods including buttons, calico, cash lent, ferret, hat, hemp, indigo, ribbon, shag, shot silk, snuff, thread, twist, and velvet; and (iii) bill book, Aug. 1828-c.May 1831, the customers including Griffiths Star Inn, Lampeter, stationer, Jane Jones Josiah & daughter of Lampeter, John Jones of Rhydydefed, David Samuel of Pyllecrynon Penycarreg, John Davies of Gellyfach Penycarreg, and Jane Evans of Mr Griffiths Stationer. Many of the goods in (iii) are simply described as 'goods', but those specified include blacking, candles, handkerchiefs, indigo, madder, muslin, ribbons, shag, silk, soap, sugar and tea. Enclosed in (ii) is a printed letter-head of Timothy Davies of Lampeter, wholesale and retail linen and woollen draper, used for notes on an account.
