Reverend Thomas Rees: Statistics of Independent churches

A volume containing statistics of the Welsh Independent churches for the year 1861 collected by the Reverend Thomas Rees, D.D. (1815-1885); the book also includes a list of dissenters in Breconshire, 1673, extracts from various sources and from the Cilgwyn church book, and notices of various Nonconformist ministers. At the other end of the book, in the hand of Thomas Rees, are Welsh hymns, extracts from various sources, a poem by the Reverend Samuel Jones, Brynllywarch, and a list of dissenting Protestant ministers in Wales, with their dates of ordination and deaths.

History of Danycastell

A history of Danycastell by R.G. Davies, 1975, describing the existence of the chapel within the overall context of the Calvinistic Methodist movement in Breconshire between the 17th and 19th centuries. It acknowledges the influences of Howell Harris and Roger Williams, as well as including details of the ministers, Sunday school and lay members associated with Danycastell. The author has added a brief comment, 1994. Mainly typescript with some manuscript additions.
