Reports and printed material relating to the Strike of 1893, and the Mines (Eight Hours) Bill which includes an overview of the Bill, the petitions and deputations of the Mining Association of Great Britain, and evidence given by South Wales colliery owners before the Royal Commission on Labour, and extracts of Commission findings. Also, a volume about the Monmouthshire and South Wales Coal Owners Association, which includes an historical overview of the formation of the Association and presents copies of key documents in the Association's history including deeds, Sliding Scale Committee agreements and details of disputes, documents relating to the General Strikes of 1871, 1873, 1875, 1879 and 1893, and large sections on Royal Commissions and Acts of Parliament relating to the coal industry.
