Kyvrinach y Beirdd, &c.,

A manuscript written c. 1573 (see f. 1) containing Kyvrinach y Beirdd (ff. 2-14a); and Humphrey Llwyd's English version of Brut y Tywysogion (ff. 1-227). The manuscript also includes poetry of Iolo Goch (f. 1); a rental of lordships in Powys (f. 228); and a Powys genealogy (f. 228b). Folios 229-232 are fragmentary and repaired.

Miscellaneous papers, [c. 1770]-1893, relating to Montgomeryshire, including a petition, [c. 1772], to repair the market-house at Newtown (f. 2); petitions, 1772, for and against the proposed turnpike road from Oswestry, co. Salop, to Welshpool (ff. 4-7); abstract of rentals of the Powis Castle estate, [c. 1773] (ff. 8-15); printed poll book for the borough of Welshpool, 1847 (ff. 23-8); and printed election address of Frederick Hanbury Tracy in the Montgomery boroughs election of 1877 (f. 38).

A rental of rents [due to the Crown] in the counties of Anglesey, Carnarvon, Chester, Denbigh, Flint, Merioneth, and Montgomery in 1781, with [the auditor's] remarks. At the beginning of the volume is a list headed 'List of North Wales Debentures', being an account of sums payable in fees and otherwise to Crown officials (such as the baron of Carnarvon exchequer, the sheriffs of the six counties, the constables of Beaumaris, Carnarvon, Conway, Harleigh and Flint castles, the chief forester of Snowdon, etc.,) and to other persons in North Wales.

An account book of a farmer of [the parish of Guilsfield], Montgomeryshire, containing particulars of daily receipts and disbursements for the period 1796-1804. There are references to the sale of livestock, crops, and farm produce, to the receipt of rent and of interest on loans, and to payments in respect of food and clothing, wages, turnpike tolls and other travelling expenses, taxes, coal, lime, stones, slates, tithes, chief rent, etc. At the beginning and the end of the volume are memoranda, 1790-1798, relating to agreements for the delivery of barley and peas, the shoeing of horses, etc.
