Deeds relating to the Dolobran estate in the parishes of Meifod and Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa, Montgomertyshire. The deeds date from the time of Charles Lloyd (1662-1747), and are records of mortgages, transfers of mortgages and creations of trusts, of the sale of the estate by the Lloyd family to Joseph Jones, and of the repurchase in 1873 of a portion of the old estate (Dolobran Fach) by Henry Lloyd. Two documents dated 1878 refer to the acquisition of the other part of the estate by Sampson Samuel Lloyd, MP. The part played by Dolobran in the history of the Quakers in Montgomeryshire is reflected in letters, 1813-1829 relating to transactions for the sale of the Quaker Meeting House and Burial Ground at Dolobran.

Roberts ('Gwilym Cowlyd'), including transcripts and translations of sermons of his uncle, Evan Evans ('Ieuan Glan Geirionydd'), together with correspondence of 'Gwilym Cowlyd' and 'Ieuan Glan Geirionydd'; eisteddfod adjudications by Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd'), Ellis Roberts ('Elis Wyn o Wyrfai') and others; volumes of (mainly Welsh) transcripted poetry, including a seventeenth century volume which once belonged to and is annotated by Lewis Morris (Llewelyn Ddu o Fôn'); seven manuscript volumes written by William Hobley in the preparation of his Hanes Methodistiaeth Arfon (1910-1924), together with correspondence of William Hobley; volumes of eighteenth and nineteenth century sermons, two of which contain notes by William Hobley; an eighteenth century tract relating to the disestablishment of the Welsh Dissenters from the Church of England; an elegy by John Roderick (Siôn Rhydderch) on the death of Ellis Wynne of Lasynys; autobiographical notes by Robert Parry ('Robin Ddu Eryri'); annotated nineteenth century Acts of Parliament relating to British railways; a commonplace book of Llanberis interest; etc.

Manuscripts and rare books relating mostly to the counties of Brecknockshire and Carmarthenshire, on subjects such as history, topography and especially genealogy, 1604-1859, including a transcript of the Golden Grove Book of pedigrees and other pedigrees, relating mainly to South Wales families; 19th century transcripts and copies of letters, including some from Sir Walter Raleigh, [1624]-[1807]; lists of Carmarthenshire sheriffs and Brecknockshire Lords Lieutenant, 1809-1849; parts of original manuscripts of Theophilus Jones and William Owen Pughe, [1792]-[1805]; notebooks and scrapbooks, 1839; and various annotated printed books; and deeds and other documents, 1588-1911, relating mostly to properties in Brecknockshire (particularly in the parish of Bronllys), with a few relating to Carmarthen and Swansea.

The papers of Gordon MacDonald, 1st Baron MacDonald of Gwaenysgor (1888-1966) comprising correspondence, copies of documents, speeches, transcripts for radio broadcasts, diplomatic dispatches, diaries, photographs and ephemera. They relate mainly to his political career as Labour Member of Parliament for Ince, Regional Controller for the Ministry of Fuel and Power for the Lancashire, Cheshire, and North Wales Region during WW2, Governor of Newfoundland and Paymaster General as well as his political interests in the Labour Party and international affairs and his Christian faith. The papers from his period in Newfoundland deal extensively with the negotiations and referenda related to confederation with Canada as well as the resulting political fallout.
