Among other items included are a code of manners ('Dysg Vanners dda'); a pedigree of Oliver Cromwell; a drawing and a description of a brass object discovered at Hen fryn fawr near Caersiws [sic], Montgomeryshire, 1808, 'Teilyn[g]dod a theithi yr Iaith Gymraeg', etc. [from Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg'): Cyfrinach Beirdd Ynys Prydain (Abertawy, 1829)]; and a diagram illustrating the civil order and the ecclesiastical order of the months. Much of the volume appears to have been written during the period 1817-18 but there are some personal and other memoranda dated to 1857. Some of the items appear to have been copied from NLW MS 2691 ('Llyfr Pant Phillip').

A holograph 'awdl' by Robert Owen Hughes ('Elfyn'; 1858-1919) on the subject 'O! na wyddwn pa le y cawn Efe', which was awarded the prize at the Dyfed Chair Eisteddfod at Newcastle Emlyn, 13 August 1896.

Letters and miscellaneous papers comprising two letters [+], 1693, from Ch[arles] Owen, Oswestree to the Lady Archer near Epping in Essex (acknowledging all the expressions of her ladyship's extraordinary favours to him, mentioning that after a tedious ramble and censorious suspicions he came home in safety, the liberality of friends, 'Yet all this will not do for a Compensation for the injury done me', he desired his brother to assist Mr (?) Durrant in adjusting those wretched differences at Epping - her Ladyship's honourable attempts towards it); seven letters [+] from T[homas] Burgess, successively bishop of St Davids and of Salisbury, one written from C[orpus] C[hristi] C[ollege], Oxford, 1787, to T[homas] Falconer, Esq'r, Chester (thanking him for the present of his little book, requesting the addressee's opinion on the meaning of a passage from the Gospels and quoting from the preface to a second edition of the [Salisbury] spelling-book), two, possibly three, written from Abergwilly Palace and London, 1813-14, to the Reverend T. W. [recte T. The items marked + were formerly Phillipps MS 35051 (see letter dated 9 February 1973 from Dr A. N. L. Munby to the Keeper of Manuscripts, National Library of Wales). # - The wrapping paper has on it 'Phillipps MSS 34929' in pencil in the autograph of J. H. Davies but, with the exception of the 'inventory of goods', the contents of this package do not appear to correspond to the description of Phillipps MS 34929 as given by Dr Munby in his letter, although Phillipps MS 34929 was purchased by J. H. Davies.

The volume was subsequently used by Mary Richards, Darowen, and, to a lesser extent, by Thomas R. Glam:', writings by Peter Williams on the Trinity including one 'To the Leaders of the Welsh Methodists on the Trinity: or rather the author of a Pamphlet on that subject', and two other letters from Peter Williams to the Association, one in Welsh, the other in English, etc.; letters to J. H. Unrelated items include letters to J. H. Davies from F. W. Bussell, Wimbledon, 1921, A. J. C. Guimaraens, London, 1924, John T. Jôb, Abergwaun, 1924, and Walter Spurrell, Carmarthen, 1915, a letter, undated, from Eluned [Morgan], Cardiff to an unnamed correspondent, and a letter, [19]17 from Rich[ar]d T. Greer, Llanbadarn, to [ ] Vaughan. There is also a press-cutting concerning Dafydd Jones o Drefriw.

A composite volume mainly in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing the names of some Caernarvonshire sheriffs arranged under houses in Llŷn and Eifionydd ('Y Tylwythau o ba rai y penodwyd Siryddion Sir Gaernarfon o Leyn ac Eifionydd'), pedigrees of various Llŷn families (Rhiw, Cefnamwlch, Saethon, Trygarn, Cefnllanfair and Madryn), notes on heraldry ('Arfau Bonedd'), more pedigrees (Nanhoron, Saethon, with a leaf from an older manuscript concerning Saython [sic]), short extracts from Caernarvonshire pedigrees concerning clergymen, etc., 'Traethawd byr, y'nghyd âg adfyfyriadau, ar Ach Iesu Grist .... wedi ei gyfieithu o Ffrangaeg Abb Giraudeau, a chwanegu atto, gan y Parchedig Dr. A. Clarke; a'i droi i'r Gymraeg gan T. Roberts' (printed extract incomplete), 'Arfau Bonedd' (Llŷn families), and a transcript of 'The Pedigree and Genealogy of the Ancient and Worshipfull Family of Jones of Llwyn Onn in the Parish of Wrexham and County of Denbigh collected out of the Books of Owen Salusbury of Rug Esqr. and other Authentick Genealogists by John Salusbury De Erbistock Anno Domini 1675'. Loose in the volume are a letter, ?1903, from the Reverend Evan Evans, Llansadwrn Rectory, Anglesey to 'Myrddin [Fardd'] (the name of a subscriber for the addressee's book, genealogical queries), and holograph verses by [Ebenezer Thomas] 'Eben Fardd' beginning 'Fenywod hawddgar! dowch o'n plaid'. The first section of the manuscript is marked 'Copy No 30'.

A composite volume containing day and memoranda books of Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd') and of his children James E[benezer] Thomas and Catherine Thomas. They include a few diary entries of Catherine Thomas, 1846-9; parish relief accounts of Catherine Thomas and others, 1847-56; Old Testament annals; a catechism; biographical notes (dates and times of births, etc.) on members of the family of 'Eben Fardd'; poetry by James E. Thomas entitled 'Englynion Iago Fardd' and 'Cynnygion at Farddoniaeth gan Iago Fardd pan yn 16 oed'; log entries relating to Bangor British School, 1850, and particulars of qualifications required of pupil teachers, etc.; particulars of qualifications required of candidates for admission to Bala [CM] College, extracted from a letter from the Principal, L[ewis] Edwards to 'Eben Fardd', 1842; questions and answers on Scripture history and on English history; essays on 'Perseverance', 'Liberty', 'Wonders of Creation', 'The Memory', and 'Peace of Conscience' by James E. Thomas, September - October, 1858; an essay by 'Austin' [J. E. Thomas] on 'Perygl a drwg gwrthgiliad ynghyd a'r pethau sydd yn arwain iddo'; post office memoranda (delivery of registered letters, etc.), 1856-8; etc. The volume is lettered 'Iago Fardd's MSS'.

A scrap-book of printed matter compiled by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing poetry by, and material relating to the life and work of, Morris Williams ('Nicander'; 1809-74).

A volume put together by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing material by, or relating to, Owen Williams ('Owain Gwyrfai'; (?)1790-1874), including Caniad Solomon, ... at yr hyn y 'chwanegwyd dwy o garolau newyddion; ynghyd ag awdl marwnad ... Sior y trydydd. gan Owen Williams (Caernarfon, 1820), cuttings from newspapers and periodicals of items by Owen Williams in prose and verse, obituary notices and articles concerning him, and a few items in the hand of 'Myrddin Fardd' e.g. 'Achau Owen Williams Waunfawr [O'i lawysgrif ef ei hun].'

A miscellaneous volume largely in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd'). The contents include items of poetry by Eben Fardd, pedigrees (one outlining the descent of Thomas Jerman Jones, 'my Pupil 1859'), two sketches ('The Cwmgwara Plantation' and 'my Birthplace'), a list of poetical compositions by Eben Fardd, 1819-39 (damaged), 'Analysis of Farmed Tenements in the Parish of Clynnog', notes on place names in the parish of Clynnog, a sketch map entitled 'A rough Delineation of the Parish of Clynnog fawr, showing very nearly the boundaries of its ancient 4 Villes' and another sketch map showing the Llanaelhaearn - Llangybi area, 'Annerchiad i Eben Vardd, ar Farwolaeth ei Anwyl Briod' by [Robert Hughes] 'Robyn Wyn' and 'englynion' entitled 'Annerchiad i Ebenezer Thomas' by Griffith Roberts, notes of a sermon by the Reverend W[illia]m Roberts, 1853, accounts relating to Cwm & Monachdy Manganese, 1841-2, and an early composition by Eben Fardd entitled 'Dyrnodiau ar bedair cadwyn ar hugain sy'n dal Meddyliau Beirdd Cymru yn gaeth yn Ngharchardy Cerdd Dafod'. Then follows a notebook labelled 'The Aberffraw Royal Eisteddfod MDCCCLIX [sic, for 1849 (MDCCCXLIX)]. The Judges' Controversy &c.,' originally containing outlines of one or two legal documents and a copy of a stamp bond, 1848, and subsequently used to contain press cuttings, etc. relating to the controversy which followed the adjudication of the poetical compositions at the Aberffraw Eisteddfod. There are also some transcripts by Eben Fardd and a holograph letter, 21 January 1850, from [John Jones] 'Talhaiarn', London to Eben Fardd. Preceding the blank pages at the end of the volume are some miscellaneous press cuttings and one or two items in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd '). Some of the material, including an advertisement for a literary meeting at Clynnog Fawr, 1859, has been pasted on to the pages.

A 'waste book' of Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd') consisting largely of problems in fluxions, together with 'The Welsh' and 'The Welsh Language' (being attacks on the Welsh people for their prejudices against the English language and their adherence to their native language), an incomplete draft of a play entitled 'Deio Meurig's Visit to Pwllhely on a Saturday afternoon in June', English and Welsh verses; etc.

A composite volume containing pedigrees in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas (Eben Fardd; 1802-1863). There are two main sections, both indexed: (A) 'Llyfr Achau amryw Deuluoedd yn Neheubarth a Gwynedd. Adysgrifiwyd genyf fi Ebenezer Thomas 1843'; (B) 'Several of the Carnarfonshire Pedigrees with some others. Copied by Ebenezer Thomas from accredited Authorities 1846', with some later additions by 'Eben Fardd' and one or two loose papers, not all in his hand. Inserted between pp. 74 and 75 in the first section are verses 'On the proposed Restoration of Clynnog Church by the "Archeological Association", 1847 ...' by 'Ebenezer Thomas, Bard; Clynnog Vawr'. At the end of the volume preceding some blank leaves are seven folios, the first of which is headed 'A Next of Kin Investigation' (concerning Erasmus Lloyd). These contain a pedigree of the descendants of Allan Lloyd of Freystrop, Pembrokeshire, exhibited by (?)Erasmus Thomas, Penygelli near Carnarvon and copied by E[benezer Thomas], 29 May 1843, at the Crown & Anchor, Carnarvon, genealogical notes concerning the Lloyds of Penamser, [Ynyscynhaearn], extracts relating to legal actions, 1843, involving the Tremadoc Estate, 'The Family Register of Ebenezer Thomas of Clynnog', lines entitled 'On the Death of my Mother' composed by Ebenezer Thomas 'after his beloved mother who died March 12: 1821', and a pedigree chart, with notes, showing the descent of Ebenezer Thomas through his maternal grandmother from the Lloyds of Penamser. The volume has been annotated here and there by John Jones (Myrddin Fardd).
