[Vintage car and horse]

A quiet street on which a vintage car is parked on the side nearest the photographer and a saddled bay horse left in the company of a sheepdog on the other.

A dark bay and a saddled chestnut horse tethered to a pole. Behind them is a hillside scattered with remains of tree stumps. This photograph fits the description on page 170 of 'A Wider Sky (Gomer 1991) "...up the cliff again, past the stumps of trees that had been snapped in the ferocious winds..."

It is also the barn mentioned in 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991) on page 194 "...and so I continued until, one day, I drew onto a canvas an old wooden barn that stood off the Avenida John D Evans. I started to paint and as I did the colours became grey and dull. It was my forty-fifth canvas and I knew the spell was broken. I never painted another picture of Patagonia."
