Lloyd George to Austen Chamberlain discussing the tenor of Coalition politics and the need to bring the Coalition to an end; a copy of A. J. Sylvester's memorandum 'Lloyd George retires from the Premiership: I serve Bonar Law'; and a letter, 23 October 1922, from Randall Davidson, archbishop of Canterbury, to A. J. Sylvester, and a copy of A. J. Sylvester's reply, 3 November 1922.

'1924 File'. The papers include an important file of correspondence on Liberal Party affairs comprising letters from H. H. Asquith, D. Lloyd George, Lord Gladstone and Sir Donald Maclean. There are also drafts of the Liberal manifesto for the 1924 general election.
