[Eight Soldiers]

Eight British soldiers arranged in two rows of four, the back row standing, front row sitting, three of them holding rifles. They are wearing an array of different cap badges. The presence of medal ribbons, wound stripes and overseas service chevrons suggest the photo was taken after the end of the First World War.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.

[Elderly Sergeant, Welsh Regiment]

Full-length studio portrait of an elderly sergeant in the Welsh Regiment. On his right sleeve he wears five Territorial Force Proficiency Stars and what appears to be a signallers instructors badge above his sergeants stripes. He is also wearing a medal (unidentified) on his left breast.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.

[Farrier Staff Sergeant]

Studio portrait of a Farrier Staff Sergeant. Note the three stripes on his sleeve supplanted by a crown. The horseshoe between the two indicates he is a farrier. No indication of Regiment. He has a pistol in a holster attached to his belt.

[Farrier, Pembroke Yeomanry]

Full-length studio portrait of a soldier in the Pembroke Yeomanry wearing a Farrier / Shoeing Smith trade badge on his upper right sleeve. His tunic is the post-1914 simplified version lacking the central pleat in the breast pockets.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.

[Farrier, Royal Engineers]

Head and shoulders portrait of a soldier in the Royal Engineers (note the shoulder strap) who has insignia marking him out as a farrier and a member of the 9th (Scottish) Division. In addition he has four overseas service chevrons and a wound stripe.

[Father and two sons].

Studio portrait of a soldier in the Welsh Regiment with two boys in sailor suits and holding toy rifles. The soldier is holding what appears to be a jewel case containing a pendant.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.

[Five Horsemen, possibly Montgomeryshire Yeomanry]

Five mounted soldiers, cap badges indistinct but possibly that of the Montgomeryshire Yeomanry. All are astride horses standing in shallow water on the edge of a river, a wooded hillside behind them. One soldier wears two Territorial Force Proficiency Stars on his lower right sleeve.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.
