'Palmerston has broken with his liberal & radical supporters, &, if he seeks a new alliance must take the Tories. In that camp he will still be dangerous, but less so than with us.' Possible changes in Budget. 'The Tories are said to be bitter against Disraeli, & he is said to delight in exposing & ridiculing their present & his former opinions.'
