Copy Will And Codicil of Evan Stephens of Glanhafren in Bettws, co. Mont., esq. (will dated 1 Dec. 1832, codicil dated 12 June 1833). Devises all his real estate to Mrs Stephens and Robert Williams of Croescynnon, co. Rad., esq., in trust for the following: a capital m. called Cefenperfa, the Gwinant cottage, sheepwalk and lands purchased from Mr Bywater to receive the rents thereof and to pay the same to his son Edward Morgan Stephens when he shall attain the age of 25 and subject thereto to his son Edward Morgan Stephens; m's called Llwynderw, Little Brinbedwin, Closeforgan, Tanyberwydd, The Harp Inn in Newtown, a malthouse, a dwelling house, a dwelling house and shop and a dwelling house, yard and slaughterhouse to receive the rents thereof and to pay the same to his son John Stephens when he shall attain the age of 25 and subject thereto to his son John Stephens the White Lion Inn, a dwelling house called Mrs Ford's House and another dwelling house and the manufactory adjoining them, five other dwelling house, the dwelling houses called Mrs Stephens's Houses on the Green in Newtown, the recently erected dwelling houses, shops and coach house, his shares in the Eastern and Western Branches of the Montgomeryshire Canal and dwelling house, shop, buildings and land in Kerry to take the rents thereof and to pay the same to his daughter Mary Ann Stephens when she shall attain the age of 21 or the day of her marriage and subject thereto to his daughter Mary Ann Stephens; a dwelling house called the Bankhouse, the dwelling houses on the Bank to his wife for life and after her death to his son Edward Morgan Stephens and also a nailor's shop an annuity of £100 to his wife for life all the rest of his real estate to his son Evan Stephens. If his son Evan should die without issue then his share he devises to his son Edward and if both should die without issue he devises their shares to his son John. Codicil. If his son Evan should die without issue he confirms that Evan's share should go to Edward but annuls the devise of lands to him in the will and devises it to trustees to raise £2,000 for his daughter Mary and, subject thereto, to his son John. Endorsed: 'Died Monday 30th September 1833'.

Recites no. 341 whereby the Dolforgan estate was demised to trustees for 500 years to raise portions, that Walter Long and his wife had only one child so that the sum to be raised as a portion was £10,000 that Walter Long by his will devised the estate to trustees of whom 2 are the survivors, that 1 has purchased the Dolforgan estate for £76,500 and has kept £10,000 part of the purchase money in his own hands.
