The manuscript is made up of five fragments. The main texts include the Credo, with a commentary; the prophecy of Merlin, with a commentary; a version of Macsen Wledig; triads; and Bonedd y Saint.

‘Brith-waith ... William Morris 1638’ (f. viii, title-page), a collection of cywyddau and englynion, of [14-17 cent.], in the early hand of William Maurice (also signed and dated on f. 32). On ff. 56 verso–57 he experiments with italic script. His contents list is on f. viii verso. A few variant readings and notes are added in his later hand.

Brut y Brenhinedd

A late 15th century, or early 16th century copy, of Brut y Brenhinedd, the Welsh translation of Geoffrey of Monmouth's Historia Regum Britanniae (ff. 1-107 verso). The manuscript was written on thick parchment by one scribe, probably in north Wales, following an exemplar associated with, if not partly derived from, the early 14th century Peniarth MS 21.

The manuscript is written in the same hand as the second part of Peniarth MS 7. The right-hand edges are often irregular.

Texts include two versions of Dares Phrygius (one in Latin and Welsh); Brut y Brenhinedd (which was left unfinished in 1634); a religious transcript from Peniarth MS 16 (1641); extracts from the Welsh Laws; and the beginning of Dosbarth Edern Dafod Aur.
