Autograph album, 1866-1868, belonging to the journalist John Griffith (Gohebydd), compiled during visits to Reconstruction Era America to report for Baner ac Amserau Cymru. The album contains eighty-four signatures and inscriptions, mainly by Senators and other senior politicians and social reformers (ff. 3-49).
The signatories include the future Presidents James A. Garfield (f. 32) and U[lysses] S. Grant (f. 37), future Vice-Presidents Tho[mas] A. Hendricks (f. 7) and Schuyler Colfax (f. 26), Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton (f. 36), presidents pro-tem of the Senate L[a] F[ayette] S. Foster (f. 19) and B[enjamin] F. Wade (f. 22), the abolitionists and social reformers Frederick Douglass (f. 38), Wendell Phillips (f. 45) and Anna E. Dickinson (f. 46), the actor James E. Murdoch (f. 41) and the writer R[alph] Waldo Emerson (f. 43). A few autographs are of Welshmen (ff. 44, 49).

Two volumes bearing the title 'Amryw ysgrifau' by the Reverend L. Rheidol Davies (1872-1952) containing press cuttings, 1937-51, of articles, which appeared in Y Llan, Yr Haul a Y Cyfaill Eglwysig; together with a few in his hand. He was Vicar at Llandeilo'r-fân and Llanfihangel Nant Brân, Breconshire, 1928-43; he travelled extensively and included are articles which he wrote about his visits to Ireland, Norway, America, Italy, Greece, Brittany, Switzerland and Egypt, together with some photographs. He edited a volume of poems by Thomas Daniel ('Pabellwyson'), Tannau byrion Pabellwyson (Cardiff, 1930) which includes an article by the editor on the characteristics of France and Spain, and included are cuttings of the poems.

A file entitled 'Amryw o Gasgliad Gwilym Cowlyd'. It includes lists of books received by W[illiam] J[ohn] Roberts ['Gwilym Cowlyd']; draft correspondence; notes; a transcript of the programme of the 1903 prayer week at Llanrwst; a collecting book for the Jubilee Celebrations at Llanrwst, 1887; a catalogue of a sale of books and manuscripts, etc. at Cowlyd House, Llanrwst, 1897; a copy of an agreement for the lease of a printing press to John Lloyd Roberts, Llanddoged, 1891; and a poster of 'The Institutional Gorsedd ... and Bardic Anniversary' held on the banks of Llyn Geirionydd, 1899.

Eilir Evans (1852-1910) of Rudyard Kipling's (1865-1936) poem Recessional; a claim sent by Susanna Jones, Llandysul to the Newcastle Emlyn Board of Guardians for payment of money due to her for nursing her father, a pauper chargeable to the Board.

A commonplace book containing prognostications, weather lore, chronology, calendars, a table of Easter dates for 1600-1701 compiled by Rice Jones in 1598, an account of the English alphabet, historical 'englynion', and miscellaneous verse. The volume belonged in the eighteenth century to David Jones, Trefriw, who copied into it extracts from William Salesbury: A Dictionary in Englyshe and Welshe ... and from the almanacks of Thomas Jones, and some genealogical memoranda.

An account book containing financial and genealogical memoranda, 1808-31, by Hugh Jones of Abergele, shopkeeper, and Hugh Jones, his son, an attorney's apprentice, with exercises in algebra and accounts by Hugh Jones, senior, of expenses in connection with the Methodist chapel at Abergele, 1807-13, and class money accounts, 1807-9.

David Williams, Chicago (Utica, N.Y., 1876), prepared by Sam Ellis of Utica in 1954 for the grand-daughters of the Rev. David Williams (1800-74), who emigrated from Llanidloes, co. Mont., to the USA in 1849 (NLW ex 1768). A volume Cartoons of the Welsh Revolt by J.M.S. (Cardiff, 1905), re-printed from the Western Mail, comprising cartoons depicting the Welsh agitation, 1902-5, against the provisions of the 1902 Balfour Education Act; together with miscellaneous printed items, 1902-65, many commemorating royal or historical events attended by members of the Lloyd-George family (NLW ex 1769).
