A manuscript in a number of seventeenth century hands, with some eighteenth century additions, containing 'cywyddau' and 'englynion' (of which several are addressed to the family of Wynn of Foelas, Ysbyty, Denbighshire) by Robin Ddu, Rys Kin [Cain], Ifan (Ieuan) Llafar, Edward Brynllys, Rees ap Robert, Rhisiartt (Richard) Kynnwal, Sion Tvdvr (Tuder), Owain Gwynedd, Howell ap Syr Mathew, Thomas Prys, etc.; 'tribannau' and 'penillion' by Ievan Griffith otherwise Y Tailiwr Llawen (1662), Rd. Edwards, etc.; 'The Gipsies Paraphrase found in the Eaves of an house in Shropshire ... 1616 and kept since by the Lord Lumley'; prophecies, in English, concerning the Civil War, etc.; a list of animal charges on armorial shields; 'Prophwydolieth Dewi; and 'Penillion' entitled 'Datcaniad i Mr. Dauidd Lloyd o flaunyddol'. There is at the beginning a descriptive note on the manuscript and a detailed list of contents in a nineteenth century hand. Among the insets are the certificate, 1885, of the purchase by George T. Jones from his mother-in-law Catherine Evans for a sum of 10s. 6d. of manuscripts belonging to his late father-in-law; an undated letter from J[ohn] Jones ['Myrddin Fardd'], Chwilog, to [J. H.] Davies (the return of a manuscript, a payment by Mr. O'Brien Owen of Caernarfon); and a pencilled note by J. H. Davies describing the manuscript as 'Llyfr Thomas Roberts 1677'.

A manuscript largely in the hand of Margaret Davies, Coetgae-du, Trawsfynydd, being a collection of 'cywyddau', a few 'awdlau', several 'englynion', and a few 'cerddi' and other poems in free metres. The collection was compiled probably during the period 1760-62, and the poets represented in the volume are Rice Jones ('or blaene'), Hugh Evans, Abram Evan, Thos. (Londini, 1632), and extensive elaborate calligraphic exercises partly in the form of transcripts of documents associated with the name of Griffith Vaughan of Pool [Montgomeryshire], 1647 and undated. Many of the pages containing calligraphic exercises, as in the case of some of the manuscripts of John Jones, ?Gellifydy, are damaged on account of the corrosive nature of the ink used by the scribe.

An imperfect manuscript of 'cerddi' and 'carolau' of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, probably written for the most part by Jenkin David, Cmarch [sic], David Jones, and Evan David, Glaslwyn. The collection was compiled around the period 1765-6. The majority of the poems are anonymous, but the names of the following authors have been recorded, some in the last lines of the compositions: William Nicholas (pp. 4, 48), Thomas John (p. 16), Sion Havart (p. 41), Evan Evans ('o fydwellty yn Sir Feirionydd', p. 60), Evan Griffith (p. 74), Sion Dafydd Sion (p. 82), John Evan ab Evan, 1746 (p. 91), John David John ('o bant y moch mowr yn Llandisil (1631), p. 109). At the end of the volume are blacksmith's and other accounts from the Llandysul area, 1778 and undated, and a list of money gifts entitled 'The names of mens on my Mitting Day' (pp. 141-144). Beginning at the end is a 'halsing', 1722.

Jones (Maes y Cernddi 'in Cowny' [sic]), and anonymous poems, farm accounts and memoranda, 1773-6, and a veterinary recipe. The volume is written in three main hands, of which the third is that of Dav[id] Shadrach.

The manuscript is written in several hands, among them that of Richard Foulks.

On the fly-leaves at the beginning is an index of first lines of the 'carolau' and 'cywydd' compiled and written by J. H. Davies, and at the end a transcript by J. H. Davies of 'Englynion o fawl i Thomas Jones' by Cadwalad[r] Roberts. The volume is lettered 'Llyfr Cadwaladr Roberts 1676'.

Dafydd Ionawr wedi colli'r Enw'), from Llansantfraid, to the Rev ...iam, 1822 (impressions of an eisteddfod at Caerwys, englynion to 'Ioan Tegyd', etc., enclosing a letter from G[oronwy] Owain).

A commonplace book of the Reverend Thomas Richards (1754-1837), vicar of Darowen containing 'An Extract out of Bishop [William] Beveridge's Exposition on the XXXIX Articles of the Church of England'; household and medical recipes from printed sources; transcripts by Mary Richard [Darowen] of letters, undated, from D[avid] Richards, Llansilin to the Reverend David Hughes, rector of Llanfyllin, and [ ] (Bible Association meetings at Llansilin); autobiographical data by Thomas Richards, 1754-1819; a topographical dictionary of English and Welsh counties; a transcript of the Thirty-Nine Articles of Faith of the Church of England; a journal and account book of Thomas Richards, 1782-92 (with gaps) (incorporating notes of sermons by D[aniel] Rowland, Llangeitho); poetry by Cadwalader Dafydd ('o Lanymowddwy') and David Ellis ('y Gof' ? A scrap-book compiled by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing poetry in strict and free metres by poets from Caernarfonshire. Some of the poems are in the hand of the compiler but the majority are in the form of cuttings, largely from the second and third quarters of the nineteenth century, with annotations from printed almanacs and from Yr Eurgrawn Wesleyaidd, Eurgrawn Môn, Goleuad Cymru, Seren Gomer, Y Drysorfa, Yr Haul, Yr Amserau, Yr Herald Cymraeg, Yr Arweinydd, Y Cyfaill Eglwysig, Y Gwyliedydd, etc. The volume is bound uniformly with Cwrtmawr MS 753 and the spine and title-page are lettered 'Gweithiau Beirdd Sir Gaernarfon'.

A manuscript index to J. H. Davies (ed.), The Letters of Lewis, Richard, William and John Morris of Anglesey (Morrisiaid Môn) (Aberystwyth, 1907-9) compiled for J. H. Davies by T. Vaughan Roberts, London and completed in 1911. The general index (420 pp.) is followed by lists of 'Words and phrases characteristic of the Morrises or illustrating forms commonly used by them' and 'Books, Pamphlets, Manuscripts & Poems referred to', references to 'Trades & Professions', and a number of corrections. Other items ('Removed from the manuscript before it was sent to Mr Jenkin James, January 7, 1931') consist of a letter, 1911, from the compiler, T. Vaughan Roberts to J. H. Davies, and a letter, 1902, from John Ballinger, Cardiff to J. H. Davies enclosing notes and items of verse (mainly by Lewis Morris) copied by J. Ifano Jones from 'an imperfect copy of Dr John Davies's Dictionary, 1632, once the property of Lewis Morris' and from copies of [Huw Jones], Diddanwch Teuluaidd (Llundain, 1763) which belonged to John William Prichard, Plas-y-brain and Nicholas Bennett respectively.

A transcript of the greater part of Henri Perri: Eglvryn Phraethineb (Lhundain, 1595), apparently by John Gryffydd. There are 'englynion', etc. by E. Jones on p. 156 entitled 'Clod i John Gryffydd am ei law ysgrifen yn y Retoreg hwn'.
