The series comprises a copy of a Chichester MP's letter, 1814, draft petitions to the House of Commons, draft minutes of a meeting convened by the High Sheriff of Denbigh, draft speeches and press cuttings, [c. 1826]-1897, concerning the Corn Laws, changes to the judicial system in Wales, heavy taxation on country landowners and the consequent decline in agricultural communities, the increase in manufacturing industries and competition from abroad; typed extracts from a newspaper, mainly concerning the General Strike, 1926.

Militia regulations, accounts and registers

The file comprises printed pamphlets, circulars and handwritten notices outlining regulations to be observed nationally by militia groups in Britain, and more particularly, by the Denbigh and Lleweni Volunteers, 1801-1807, accounts, 1813, and records of the Denbighshire Regiment of Yeomanry Cavalry, 1871-1876, including pay lists, a summarised attendance register and muster roll.

The file comprises a pedigree roll, with coloured coats of arms, thought to be in the hand of Rhys Cain, showing possible lines of descent of William Myddelton (died 1636), son of John Myddelton of Gwaunynog, and Alis vch Hugh ap Ellis. [The Griffith connection occurred later, when John Griffith (1) of Garn married Mary, daughter of Foulk Myddelton in about 1670.]
