J. B. Bruce, Dyffryn, to Mr Taliesin Williams, Merthyr. Have the Fates conspired against their collecting for the Eisteddfod? He understands their friend of the Court is temporarily absent - if he does not return by Monday would it not be more politic again to postpone operations? His brother's preaching engagements at Merthyr and Aberdare.

J. B. B[ruce] to Ab Iolo. Suggesting that the addressee, Mr Thomas, and JBB himself should meet at Aberdare on Monday next to ask for Eisteddfod subscriptions.

J. B. B[ruce], Castle Inn, to Mr Taliesin Williams. He has received the following Aberdare subscriptions.

He will accompany the addressee and Mr Thomas tomorrow if the addressee will ask a few others to go with them, say Perkins, H. Jones, D. W. James, &c.

A query from the writer's brother from St Hilary about the two volumes of English Poetry (by old Iolo) which the Bishop was promised by Taliesin, and a request, again from the writer's brother, for 6 or 8 good humorous lines in Welsh suitable for the smith's forge which Lle. Traherne is making (at St Hilary); Traherne contemplates asking Ab Iolo himself, and it will surprise him if the lines come before he asks.
