Certificate, 1816, and instructions, 1816, 1846, relating to the pension of Evan Griffiths, Dolgellau, Merionethshire, wounded at the Battle of Waterloo whilst serving with the Coldstream Guards and now an out-pensioner of the Royal Hospital at Chelsea (ff. 1-3). Also included is the appointment of Griffiths and others as Overseers of the Poor for Dolgellau, 7 April 1846 (f. 4).

Original manuscript draft, [?1911], of D. J. Saer, The Story of Cardiganshire (Cardiff, [1911]), a volume for schoolchildren, describing the geography and history of the county, published as part of the Welsh County Series.
The manuscript consists of the main text (ff. 1-140) with many annotations and corrections (including new sections pasted in on ff. 2, 3, 27), a list of notable Cardiganshire men (ff. 141-150), glossary (ff. 151-152), bibliography (f. 153) and contents (ff. 154-155). Draft versions of maps and diagrams are on ff. 2, 156-165; several photographs, including some reproduced in the printed version, are pasted in on ff. 14, 18, 24, 25, 28, 33, 35, 83, 87, 89, 90. The preface, list of maps and pictures and index are not included.

Typescript calendar, [1943], of correspondence, 1623-1641, of John Williams, Bishop of Lincoln, held by Lincoln Diocesan Record Office, now part of Lincolnshire Archives (ff. 1-4).
The calendar summarises the contents of twenty-three letters to Williams, 1623-1641, and five copy and draft letters by him, 1623-1631.

Two loose gatherings from a printed account book containing accounts, 1896-1897, 1899-1903, of the Aberystwyth based University College of Wales Auxiliary Branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society.
The volume lists the individual subscribers, including teaching staff and students, and their contributions.

Log book, 1804-1806 (watermarks 1801, 1802), of the sailing ship 'Liberty'.
The volume records voyages from London to Surinam, July-October 1804 (ff. 1-15 verso), and Surinam to London (via Cork), January-April 1805 (ff. 17 verso-34); from London to Jamaica (via Cowes, Madeira and Barbados; carrying 250 soldiers and their families), August-November 1805 (ff. 35 verso-55), and from Jamaica to London, February-May 1806 (ff. 56 verso-77). A note on f. 89 verso records an encounter on 28 April 1806 with HM Brig Raven (see also f. 72 verso). The volume is written in a hand resembling that of NLW MS 15463D.

A typed transcript, 1948, of the memoirs and journal of Thomas Jones, Pencerrig, recounting his life in London, France and especially Italy during the second half of the eighteenth century. It was copied from another typescript (then owned by C. L. Evan-Thomas) of the original manuscript (now NLW MS 23812D).
The volume broadly covers the period from the 1760s to December 1783, with a final entry by Jones at Pencerrig, November 1798 (ff. 303-304). The main text is typed on the rectos only, with Jones' original notes reproduced on the facing versos. Facsimile copies of a sketch of Mt Vesuvius and a plan of Jones’ lodgings in Naples in 1780, apparently redrafted by the creator of the initial typescript, have been inserted after ff. 168 and 201.

An essay in Welsh, c. 1952-1953, on the life and work of Sir Daniel Lleufer Thomas (1863-1940), presumably written by David ('Dewi') Goronwy Griffiths (1882-1958), journalist and Cardiganshire county librarian until 1948. 'Hanes Bywyd a Gwaith Syr Daniel Lleufer Thomas' was a proposed essay competition at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, Ystradgynlais, 1954, and was amongst the list of subjects published in 1952 and 1953, but excluded from the Ystradgynlais list. Also included is a typescript copy (ff. 42-60) which corresponds to ff. 1-26 in the manuscript version, and a typescript copy letter, 1953, addressed to Ernest Roberts, Bangor, probably from D. Gethin Williams, solicitor, Swansea, nephew of D. Lleufer Thomas and patron of the intended competition, enquiring as to the fate of the competition. For papers of D. Manuscript and typescript copies of poetry, in Welsh, by the Reverend William Alfa Richards ('Alfa', 1875-1931), Brynaman, co. Carmarthen, comprising the winning awdl in the Central Hall, London Eisteddfod, 1922; awdlau entered for the National Eisteddfod of Wales chair competitions at Ammanford 1922, Mold 1923, Pwllheli 1925 and Swansea 1926; a pryddest entered for the crown competition at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, Pwllheli, 1925; and an untitled pryddest, possibly entered for the crown competition at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, Liverpool, 1929.

Pedigree book, [mid 17 cent.], each page consisting of a printed arrangement of fifteen empty roundels and eight shields to accommodate four generations, together with a larger shield for an achievement; partially used to enter the Welsh ancestry of King James I, based on George Owen Harry, The Genealogy of ... James ... King of great Brittayne ... (London, 1604) (see p. 38). Apparently in the hand of Sylvanus Morgan (1620-1693) whose pedigree appears on p. 1, although a note by J. E. Oldfield (inside front cover) suggests the scribe to have been Peter Vaughan, sometime of Jesus College, Oxford.

Journal, January 1870-March 1871, of Edward S. Rutter (b. c. 1838), Swansea, co. Glamorgan, mainly recording his evangelical work with the Swansea Gospel Mission founded in 1865 by Oscar T. Snelling (1845-1916). Periodic diary notes, 1872-1874, found loose in the volume, have been tipped in at the end (ff. 113-23).

Account books, 1796-1942, containing details of receipts and payment in respect of Ellen Glynne's charity, including details of rents received from trust property in the parishes of Llandwrog and Llanllyfni, co. Caernarfon, and in the parish of Llangoed, co. Anglesey.

Minute-book, 1796-1909, of the trustees of the charity created by the will of Ellen Glynne of Elernion, parish of Llanaelhaearn, co. Caernarfon, spinster, respecting the almshouse at Llandwrog and property in the parishes of Llandwrog and Llanllyfni, co. Caernarfon, and in the parish of Llangoed, co. Anglesey. The minutes include details of admittances to the almshouse and details of tenants, rents and repair of trust property. Also included in the volume are copies of the will, 1727, with codicils, 1728 and 1732/3, of Ellen Glynne, proved at London, 1733 (tipped in between ff. i and ii; ff. 1-6v).

Account books, 1849-1880, of Daniel Jenkins of Coed, Llanddewi Aber-arth, later of Tyngwndwn, Llanbadarn Trefeglwys, co. Cardigan, farmer, containing farming and other accounts; a list of purchasers at the Coed sale, 1874, with the amounts paid for the various lots (MS 22878, ff. 1v, 9v-62); and miscellaneous memoranda. Inserted in MS 22877 is a copy of Reynolds's Astrological and Prophetic Almanack for 1848 (ff. 126-34v).

An autograph album, 1879-1918, thought to belong to 'Ap Ieuan', possibly Samuel Evans, a member of Tabernacl Welsh Congregational church, Shrewsbury, containing entries in Welsh, English, Chinese and other eastern and African languages, mainly by Congregationalist ministers and missionaries, including Ben Davies, Pant-teg, T. Eynon Davies, David Picton Jones, J. R. Kilsby Jones and H. Elvet Lewis ('Elfed'); together with pasted-in photographs. Papers found loose inside have been tipped in at the end of the volume (ff. 27-32).

A volume, 1800-1801, in the hand of Hugh Maurice (1775-1825) containing the laws of Hywel Dda in the Demetian Code, copied from Cardiff MS 2.7 (a copy of BL Cotton MS Titus D ix), together with an extract relating to Hywel Dda from the Myvyrian Archaiology text of Brut y Tywysogion (pp. 242-3).

A notebook (MS 22861iB) mainly containing pasted-in newspaper cuttings of poems in Welsh by David Morgan ('Cerddwyson', 1862-1935), Merthyr Tudful, composed between 1900 and 1929, with manuscript additions. Items found loose inside the volume have been filed separately (MS 22861iiE); they comprise two pamphlets: the periodical Cenad Hedd for March 1910, which contains an article on Maggie Morgans, the poet's mother, and Lledu'r Gorwelion (Merthyr Tydfil, 1928), being the printed version of Cerddwyson's address to the Congregationalists of the North Glamorgan Association on his retirement as chairman in October 1927; together with two related newspaper cuttings, 1936-1991.

Minute-book, 1929-1962, of the Welsh University Union, originally kept in English but written in Welsh from 1950 onwards, containing accounts of annual meetings held during National Eisteddfod week (NLW MS 22858iB).
Items found loose inside the volume have been filed separately (NLW MS 22858iiE). These comprise thirteen letters, 1960-[1963], mostly to Lily Richards, secretary of the Union for South Wales, concerning arrangements for the annual meeting which was to be held at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, Dyffryn Maelor, 1961, at Rhosllannerchrugog, including one letter each from Sir David Hughes Parry, Sir Thomas Parry, Frank Price Jones and Professor Huw Morris-Jones; a paper, 1961, entitled 'Four Universities for Wales', advocating the break-up of the federal University of Wales; together with newspaper cuttings, 1928-1948, relating to meetings of the Union.

Accounts, 1906, in Welsh and English, of the religious revival of 1904-1905, received from eighteen Baptist churches in Wales in response to a questionnaire by the Welsh Baptist Historical Society; together with a list of all twenty-two replies received (f. i).

Letters and postcards, 1923-1987, sent by Emlyn Williams to Miss Hilda Morris and Miss Dorothy Swinnerton in Abergavenny, two of his teachers at Holywell County School, together with a copy of a script by him: 'Emlyn Williams as Saki', 1977, programme of the ceremony of his conferement of the freedom of the Borough of Delyn, 1982, and signed theatre programmes and newspaper cuttings of theatre reviews and his autobiography George : an early autobiography (London, 1961).

A typescript draft, with manuscript corrections and additions, of an address, dated August 1916, on the history of Mynydd-bach Congregational church, Swansea, author unknown, and including verses by Daniel James (Gwyrosydd) entitled 'Fy Mynyddbach'.
