Several of the letters congratulate David Davies on his elevation to the peerage at the beginning of the year. File A3/5 comprises correspondence 1930-33, to, from and about J. Vyrnwy Lewis of Caradog Road, Aberystwyth, whom David Davies employed as a research assistant and aide.

Letters, 1923-1928, sent out on behalf of David Davies by his various secretaries, on a wide range of subjects. Some of the letters relate to the activities and running of the League of Nations Union set up in 1918, others concern the publication and running of the Welsh Outlook periodical. A few letters concern David Davies's purchase of the Coulin estate in Scotland.

The records of the New Commonwealth Society established by Lord Davies in 1932. These include a large corpus of minutes of meetings of its many committees and sub-committees, reports and memoranda, correspondence files, accounts and financial documentation, material on the World Shilling Fund, conference and meeting documentation, material on various study schools, papers concerning the Military Round Table organised after World War Two and the David Davies Memorial Institute in the 1950's.

First World War,

Correspondence and papers relating to the latter stages of the First World War. Among the subjects covered are the Ministry of Munitions, tanks, the army, petrol and timber supplies, the battles of 1917 and their casualties.

World War Two,

Miscellaneous files from the period of the Second World War, including one on invalided soldiers from Montgomeryshire and the war factory at Treorchy.
