A composite volume of collections of Welsh poetry and prose made about 1635. The title is derived from the third section which contains a number of poems to members of the Wynn family of Moelyrch in Llansilin. Amongst the poets represented are Hywel Cilan, Tudur Aled, Rhys Cain, Gruffudd Hiraethog, Sion Cain, Guto'r Glyn, Edmwnd Prys, Lewis Glyn Cothi, Iolo Goch, Cynddelw Brydydd Mawr, Iorwerth Fynglwyd, Taliesin, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Dafydd Nanmor and Wiliam Cynwal. Miscellaneous material in the volume includes a copy of an award relating to Moelyrch, 1540; a fragment of a letter by Charles I; the pedigrees of Oliver Cromwell, Holland and Morris, and Kyffin of Bodfach; a roll of the Caerwys Eisteddfod, 1567; an extract from 'Breuddwyd Rhonabwy'; a list of the sheriffs of Denbighshire from 1541 to 1635, with additions to 1658; a copy of documents relating to the treaty of alliance concluded between Charles VI of France and Owain Glyndŵr; extracts from the epigrams of John Owen; and extracts from scripture.

An early seventeenth century manuscript, fragile, written c. 1611-1621 and possibly earlier by Roger Williams, clerk, rector of the parish of St. Nicholas, co. Glamorgan [the scribe of parts of Llanstephan MS 41] and containing pedigrees, Welsh poetry, medical and veterinary recipes, etc. Roger Williams [TLLM, 41n, 213-4] was the son of Roger William of Prisk [in the parish of Llanddunwyd (Welsh St. Donats)] and he married Elinor Rees [daughter of Rhys Amheurug (Rees Merrick)]: his pedigree is on p. 27 of this manuscript (cf. Llanstephan MS 41, p. 173). A folio or folios are wanting at the beginning and someone has written the words 'The Isue [sic] of Gruffydd fawr [De Radyr]' opposite the first page (p. 4). Twenty-eight holograph letters and a fragment of another, 1728-1764, of the Morrises of Anglesey and their circle, the correspondents being Rhist. Morys, London (4), Llywelin Deheubarth (1), Edward Hughes, Aberystwyth and Gallt Vadog (5), Lewis Morris, London and Galltvadog (10), [Goronwy Owen] 'Gronwy Ddu', Llundain (1), Margt. Owen, Pentrerianell (5), Wm Morris, Caer Gybi Sant (1), an unnamed correspondent, Llanvayr Clwydogau (1), and Richd. Morris, Rhydyraderyn (1). All these letters have been published except possibly that of Rich[ar]d Morris, Rhydyraderyn (1764), and a chronological list with references has now been inserted in the volume. Most of the letters have been published in Additional Letters of the Morrises of Anglesey (1735-1786), ed. Hugh Owen (Y Cymmrodor, Vol. XLIX, Part II (1949). They are followed by copies of letters written to [Hugh Hughes] Hugh ap Hugh, Llwydiarth Esgob by John Thomas [d. 1769], Bangor and Bewmaris [sic], 1764-7 (3), and Rhist. Morys, Llundain, 1760-70 (4, one possibly holograph). At the end of the volume are items of verse by various authors, including S. W., Owen Gruffydd, John Roderick, Sion Onest, 1736, Hugh Morris, Ellis Cadwaladr and Evan Williams 'Telynior yn Llundain' (a translation of 'Lovely Peggy').

An imperfect manuscript lettered 'Llyfr Tesni' containing astrological and other texts and tables, such as 'llyma y XII Arwydd', 'helynt yr wybyr' ('devddeg gwynt y sydd'), 'Arwyddion' based on the incidence of thunder within each month, 'llyma Rifedi yr hyn sydd, o orie ymhob mis or flwyddyn', 'llyma glandyr a elwir treiad ymryson', a table for the years 1690-1794 indicating the golden number ('prif') and dominical letter ('llythyren y Svl'), 'devddec mis sydd yn y flwyddyn', 'englynion ir prifiav ysydd yn y misoedd hyny', a table of the cycle of the sun and the moon, 'Brevddwidion y lloer yn ol llyfr y gwybodeth', 'Era Pater', 'Englynion y Misoedd' by Aneirin gwawdydd ('yn llys Maelgwyn gwynedd Brenin Brytaniaid'), 'Englynion yr Eira Mynydd' by Mabgloch ab Llowarch hen, 'Cowydd ir ffenix' by Sion Phylip, 'devddeg gair gwir', 'Cowydd ir devddeg gair gwir, by Thomas ap Evan (1629), and 'llyma henwav y brenhinoedd a farnwyd yn ore or brytaniaid ... 24 sydd o honynt. The volume was written by Richard 'ysgripiwr' (the scribe) during the period January ? 1691/2 - April 1692; in addition, some recipes (for ink, how to write with gold) in an 18th century hand.

The volume is said (p. vi) to have been transcribed at Ty du, Llanberis, in July 1766, from a manuscript of William Phylip, Hendref fechan, Dyffryn Ardudwy (Cardiff MS 19, part II). There are annotations, variant forms and additions by the scribe (David Ellis), by P[eter Bailey] Williams, Llanrug (1763-1836) and O[wen] W[illiams] ('Owain Gwyrfai'), Waunfawr. The spine is lettered 'David Ellis MS'.

The greater part of the volume is based on manuscripts of Dr Griffith Roberts (1735-1808), Dolgellau (Peniarth MSS 99, 100, ?152) and on 'Cronfa Dafydd Thomas, alias Dafydd Ddu o'r Yri' (Cwrtmawr MS 72). There are annotations and additions by Owen Williams, Waunfawr, Peter Bailey Williams, Llanrug and one annotation by D[aniel] S[ilvan] Evans. The manuscript is bound uniformly with Cwrtmawr MSS 10-11 and the spine is lettered 'Dafydd Ellis MS'.

A manuscript containing an alphabetical list of poets and authors (most with abbreviations for the names and floruits appended) and literary and historical works (e.g. Brut y Tywysogion, Buchedd St Margaret); a list of Welsh proverbs, all starting with 'ni' or 'nid'; poetry, nearly all in the form of 'englynion', mainly by Owen Gruffydd 'o blwy Llanystynd[wy]' and Absalom Roberts of Llanrwst, with a few 'englynion' by John Prichard Prys, Edward Morus, Ellis Rolant, Sion Dafydd and anonymous; on the last page (24) there are epitaphs in verse to Anne and Cathrin Roberts of Goppa, who died in 1780.

A volume in the hand of Owen Williams ('Owain Gwyrfai'; 1790-1874), Waun-fawr, Caernarvonshire, containing a list of contents of a pedigree manuscript of Owen Gruffydd, Llanystumdwy, and poetry by Lewis Morganwg from a manuscript in the writer's possession, both compiled in 1843 with a view to publication in Yr Haul; and transcripts, made during the period 1871-2, of poetry by Cadwaladr Cesail (transcribed at the request of John Jones, Bryn y Gro, Llanystumdwy), and Morys Dwyfech. In the case of the latter poet, some transcripts are in another hand and there are copious corrections by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'). The volume is labelled on the upper cover 'Owain Gwyrfai MS'.

A manuscript entitled 'Llyfr Ofer Gerddi Margaret Davies 1738', being a collection of 'carolau', 'dyrïau', 'Penillion', and 'englynion' compiled by Margaret Davies (c. 1700-85?), of Coetgae-du, Trawsfynydd, Merioneth. An analysis of the volume ('Bannau'r Llyfr hwn ... by the scribe describes the contents as follows: 'Y Part Cynta or Llyfr sydd O Garolau Maswedd gan mwya. A volume of transcripts by J. R. Jones (according to the entry in Cwrtmawr MS 1488B; see also Cwrtmawr MS 1000C), with some collations and annotations, of 'awdlau' and 'cywyddau' by Wiliam Llyn. A few additional transcripts at the end, as well as some of the collations, etc., are in the hand of J. H. Davies. There is a typescript index of first lines of the poems, again with manuscript additions by J. H. Davies. Inset are another list of first lines in the hand of J. H. Davies; an offprint, from Y Traethodydd, 1897, pp. 139-50, of 'William Lleyn' by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'); and a printed prospectus of a proposed collection by 'Myrddin Fardd' of 'The Works of the Bards of Llyn and Eifionydd'.

Bound in at the end of the volume, also in the hand of Owen Williams, are 'englynion' ('I'r Iesu', etc.) transcribed in 1853 from a manuscript (1655) of William Salesbury of Bachymbyd; two versions of an address on 'Helynt y Cymry, eu hiaith a'u defodau, etc.' delivered at Eisteddfod Tywyn, Tre Fadog, and prepared for publication in the Carnarvon Herald; and a biography of Richard Jones ('Gwyndaf Eryri'; 1785-1848). The volume is lettered on the spine in gold: 'Owain Gwyrfai MS'.
