William Williams to Taliesin Williams,

William Williams to Mr Taliesin Williams. The paper which TW sent by the writer's son last night is addressed to him by EW, therefore no other person has a right to keep it but himself. However if the addressee will either pay the remainder of the money due for printing Estlin's Catecism tomorrow or send him a note by William mentioning the time it will be convenient for him to pay, he will immediately return the paper although the addressee's father addressed it to him.

J. Wise, Gwernllwyn, to Taliesin Williams.

J. Wise, Gwernllwyn, to Mr T[aliesin] Williams, Academy, Merthyr, 'Per Charles Wise'. Apologising for addressing him on this scrap. He took the liberty of keeping Master Charles at home today (because of a cold and cough). When may he again expect the pleasure of the addressee's company at Dowlais? He will be disengaged any time the addressee will mention, 'but please to recollect it must be negroes Holliday'.

Taliesin Williams to the Rev. [?T. Price],

[Taliesin Williams], Merthyr Tydfil, to the Rev. [?T. Price]. He has just received the enclosed from Landovery. There is a mistake somewhere - the addressee has had all his (TW's) MSS that contain any facsimiles. But he (TW) mentioned some inscriptions at the time of which he had no copies. Acknowledging the addressee's valuable suggestions generally, particularly his rendering of the inscription immediately under consideration. Draft. Incomplete.

Edmund Baker, Clerk to the Registers, Soho, to Edward Williams, Flimston,

Edmund Baker, Clerk to the Registers, 42 Broad Street, Soho, to Mr Edward Williams, Flimston near Cowbridge. A Committee meeting was held yesterday at Mr Boscawen's direction but owing to non-attendance nothing could be done. The regular meeting will be on the third Thursday in October, when Mr David Williams will be back, and any further authenticated representation the addressee may please to send will be laid before the Committee. A reminder.

Thos Bedford, Wakegreen near Birmingham, to Mr Williams,

He has written to Mr Knight in an attempt to procure some money for the poor widow the addressee pleads for. Is very glad to find that he is a friendly neighbour to Mrs Bedford. Erroneous doctrines. The state of Unitarianism in South Wales. A new Unitarian chapel at Neath. The writer will see a person who is likely to know about the Doxology.

Thomas Bere, Blagdon House near Bristol, to Mr Edward Williams, Flimstone near Cowbridge,

He remembers that in the beginning of 1795 the addressee proposed to publish the History of the Antient British Bards and Druids, the Bardic Triads, &c. 'As a briton [sic] warmly anxious for the elucidations of so valuable a portion of national History', he presumes to enquire whether it has been, or is soon likely to be, edited. They both know well enough that there are daring undertakers among the journeymen Bookmakers in town. A request for a list of such books as are to be had in our language which the addressee can recommend. Naming the books he has. Detached as he is he knows very little of what is in or is going on in its literature. Endorsed: 'Rev. Mr Bere'.

G. Birley, Cardiff, to Mr Edwd William, Late of Flimstone,

Mr Townley, the editor of the "Biblical Anecdotes", requested the writer to forward the enclosed as speedily as possible with a request to the addressee to forward the Bardic Staff as soon as he can, as he is about publishing a new edition of the above-mentioned work in three volumes. Endorsed: 'Mr Birley from Cardiff with Mr Townleys Letter from Bristol ..'. Enclosure wanting.

H. M. Bowdler, Bath, to Mr Edwd Williams at Mr Owen's, No. 22 Penton Street, Pentonville, London,

Mrs Montagu and some first-rate Litterati [sic] wish for information in regard to the lately discovered Welsh Colony in America. Two queries. He will forgive her Welsh blood being up when she hears the whole story (of Madoc's voyage) denied. Requesting him to send her a few more proposals for his publication and to tell her how he goes on. They are now returned to Bath. She has taken £10 to repay herself as he desired. She expects Mr Haggitt in a day or two and will then add to it the subscription she mentioned. Endorsed: 'Miss Bowdler'.

H. M. Bowdler, Bath, to Mr Williams,

Her mother desires her to thank him for his letter. They are truly sorry to hear of his distress. Her mother sends eight guineas, and says she hopes he will give her the satisfaction of knowing that it has answered the purpose intended by sending her the printer's receipt for the paper. Their view of the situation. They will certainly comply with his request and conceal the contents of his letter from his friends in Wales, but she believes they are all surprised at his very long absence, which appears to them injudicious in itself and very unfortunate for his family. She has a full subscription for him from Mrs Archer, Trelaske, Cornwall. Asking him to deduct this from the eight guineas and his debt to her mother will be £8. Endorsed: 'Miss Bowdler'. The half-sheet containing the address has been torn off.
