Extract from the Court Roll of the town of Ruthin held there before John de Ewelowe, steward of Deffrencloyd, on Tuesday before St. Barnabas's day [11 June] [1397] wherein is recorded that Howel de Rowell surrendered a tenement in Ruthin to the use of John Le Sergeant the elder for life, with remainder to John son of John Le Sergeant in tail and then to the right heirs of the said John Le Sergeant the elder.
