Petition of Richard Exmewe to Sir Edmund Grey, Lord of Hastyngs, Weysford and Ruthyn, showing that the petitioner's father held a tenement of the lord's ancestors in "the Ruthyn" for 5sh. 4d. yearly now raised to 10sh 8d. and desiring that the reduction may be granted. Petition to Walter Blount Esquire the King's surveyor of the Castles, manors, lands, etc., of the Earldom of March by Meredith ap David ap Grono, to be allowed to alter the watercourse to his cornmill in Caerodwynyth, comote of Issalet, Lordship of Denbigh, at a yearly rent of 6d. Petri (22 February) [1454] wherein it is recorded that Edward Exmewe surrendered 2 acres of land in the town of Moroke belonging to his plas in the town of Ruthyn between Longefordefeld and the vicus or Street of Moroke, to John son of Robert, for 42sh. for a term of 4 years at a time, according to the form of "Tere prede" until the above sum be repaid. Extract from the Roll of the Ninth Court of the Town of Ruthyn, held there before Thomas Salbur', on Tuesday after the day of St. Gregory the Pope [13 January] [1465] wherein is recorded that Ralph Perte and Maista his wife surrendered a place and garden in the town of Ruthyn "in vico Wallenci"; (or in Welsh Street) beyond the outer bars between the way which leads between Gwernvaghan and a place late of Davd ap Ieuan ap Meilir, and in length from the common way leading from the said bars towards Llanbedur as far as Gwernveghan, to which Henry Cardmaker and Richard Exmewe are thereupon admitted tenants.
